Can Kayn please heal in base while transitioning to Red/Blue?
It's dumb. I'm like, "Oh boy. Time to truly kick some- oh, I'm still at no health, because the spawn pool doesn't heal me when I'm transitioning."
Come on, now.

....Why the hell is this even a thing?
Small company indie.
Kayn coded as minion
That makes me curious whether minions get healed if thrown in their fountain...
"They won't take the lantern either"
I think Kayn is untargetable when he's transforming. Riot had to make a specific code a while back to have Soraka's Wish work on untargetable allies. I imagine untargetable just kind of locks the health bar a bit.
Wait what?!
Why is this even a thing, who thought not healing Kayn whilst evolving was neccesary.
I´m with you, this is ridicouless
Someone who got hit by an ez ult right after transforming probably.
I'm pretty sure it's just because Kayn becomes untargetable while he transforms. Unintended side effect, and a bad one, but not that ridiculous as far as bugs go.
Ok sure but why
######This is like second suggestion you made where your nickname makes such a fine post... I couldn't resist
Seriously speaking, though, does Kha and Kai'Sa heal while evolving in the base? If yes then it's not even lazy programming but intention and I'd wonder what is the reason.
AFAIK Kha and Kai'sa's evolutions are just numbers changes, whereas Kayn's abilities actually change. They might be coded differently; Kayn's transformation actually seems more like Sion's passive transition than Kha's transformation.
I'm pretty sure it's just because Kayn becomes untargetable while he transforms. Unintended side effect, and not intentional at all.
On the other hand, pretty sure that Kha does heal, since you can also target and attack him while he transforms (cf. LCS Big Plays where some Kah evolving under tower thinking he was safe got dived and killed while being unable to do anything.)
lol i never played kayn before but i agree
I think its because the transformation makes Kayn invulnerable just like bard ult or zhoniya(so he doesnt get cc'ed or die during trasnformation) but unfortunately it causes kayn not to heal during the animation. i think riot couldnt solve it so they chose to instead leave it at that. Its better to have kayn transform and not get bugged out of transformation than let him heal during the animation.
More likely they just didn't notice. I mean Kayn was released almost 10 months ago and this is the first boards post I have seen on the subject. I highly doubt that the guy/gal who programmed it decided to go and get chunked to 10% HP on their testing server before walking back into fountain to transform. When testing that sort of thing you usually just set up a simulation that lets you set whichever of his bars you want to max as soon as you load in so that you can quickly test and reiterate.
Honestly I don't get where all this preconception about lazy programmers comes from. I mean yes, we are lazy. We tend to take the shortest and easiest way so long as it a) doesn't break things and b) is usable by whomever else may need to work with it, adaptable tools and all that. Being lazy is basically our job description because the point is to get things working and move on to the next thing. So long as something seems to be working correctly after trying all the main things then we call it good and pass it along to the people actually in charge of testing.
Programmers do not go "Oh, it would be hard to make it heal during that so I wont do it." We might go "Yes, that issue that you are having is not something I know how to solve, and after talking it over with other members of the team that is not something we can fix without breaking other things. That means our options are a) remove the first thing or b) remove the second to allow us to add the first thing."
Also considering that healing during stasis is something that champions have been able to do in League for years I doubt it is that, especially since you could hard simulate the healing if needed because you know they are in fountain.
The chances that none of the testers noticed or didn't think it was worth mentioning are far more likely than someone going "We don't have the tech to heal him." It is honestly sad how much shit programmers, especially League's, get for missing something that took a million players 10 months to make a thread about that got on the front page. Sorry that the one guy/gal who was probably in charge of making an animation work missed something so small, they are clearly completely incompetent and don't have the tech to change a champion's health/mana values so they purposely left it in.
When Kayn completes transformation, he should just be set to full hp and mana, instead of slowly regenerating HP while transforming. It's just a minor satisfaction thing that I think people would enjoy.
Just make them full hp and mana when they evolve. It's hardly abusable anyway.
Yeah, that's why the post explicitly states how annoying it is that I have to wait an extra five seconds because the game won't let me multitask.
I mean basically the same thing, but I think it'll just feel good if heal happens instantly upon successful transformation instead of slowly regenerating.

Nope, just nope. You know how many people would abuse this? The second you have the orbs to transform, run to mid, suicide dive and kill mid. Transform when you're at low health, get a free
and then
ultimate.
NO THANKS!

... um you do realize that you can ONLY transform at base ... right?

Oh yeah, don't know why I forgot about this lol
Ohhh, that's what you meant. That came across as "Wait until you're full hp before evolving." I need to be on these boards less.
Going back to it now, I can see how it can be interpreted that way. I'll edit for others
Ok sure but why
I'm pretty sure you go invulnerable while switching and then you get homeguard afterwards for sure
