Can we discuss how fucking ridiculous Yi is right now

50CaliberHecate··3 votes·438 views

Even BEHIND in kills, farm, and gold, he legit hits 18 even late game, he can 1v5 the entire enemy team. That's utter bs. I shouldn't have to waste my ban on him every fucking game just because he is that unbalanced. True damage in his kit? Really? So tanks get shredded, squishes get one shot, and all lanes fall at lvl 18. Nice to fucking know. Fuck you riot.

I agree that Master Yi is incredibly good... WHEN HE'S FED (or even with the enemy jg). No champion in the game is good when they're behind... especially not Yi. CC can absolutely destroy him in so many ways and he is a relatively squishy champion when compared to some. If you are a squishy champ as well, then just don't get caught out by him, stay behind tanks, and buy Zhonya's Hourglass whenever he Q's or whichever ability makes him disappear.

It's not hard to beat him, but if he does get fed, then, unless you have hardcore CC or a shitload of tanks, then GG.

I think it is more than snowballing, as he and a few others can catch up really fast. AD burst champs can be completely shutdown in game, and then they hit a powerspike that is on another level. I see the same thing with Yasuo's. I will chase one out of lane and bully the hell out of them, then they hit their powerspike and even though they are behind level, go dive another lane, pick up one or 2 cheese kills and suddenly they are back even with everyone. It is almost as if winning early game doesn't matter unless you are playing a hypercarry as well.

I agree, these yasuo come back are so annoying, like the guy 1/10/1, carrying suddenly...

If he were that good, we'd be seeing him in professional play and his winrate would be through the roof. Guess what. We're not!

Your exaggerating. He's definitely in a great spot currently, but he has TONS of weaknesses.

  • He's fragile
  • He is extremely vulnerable to CC
  • Exhaust literally removes him from the game for a few seconds.
  • If his ultimate is down, he's pretty much hot garbage.
  • He cannot 1v5 the entire enemy team if he's behind.
  • He cannot 1v5 the entire enemy team if he's behind.
  • No one can 1v5 the entire enemy team if they are behind.

Too bad 99% of the playerbase is not professional.

Right, but my point was that most of the professionals know what's busted. If Yi was as nuts as the OP is suggesting, you would see Professionals playing him more.

The entire point was about Yi - it really had nothing to do with the percentage of players who are not professional.

Well its not just professional. Medium and high elo players can also deal with Yi with ease. Only low elo struggles against him. And they cant really balance game for low elo.

I agree, yi is pretty easy to shutdown. Problem are low elo players unable to deal with the Q. in a 1v1, It's a pure reaction match, if he dodges the CC with his Q he wins, if he doesn't he loses.

The other problem is people fighting all the time and unable of keeping track of the other player, fighting all in without yi in the fight is stupid. he will probably just sweep clean your team once you're exhausted on the floor, low hp.

As a silver I like to ban him because people will feed him anyway.

After the last few patches his play rate has climbed even in plat+ and still has a good win rate. Usually when you see those type of pick rates, you see less wins. Right now I think he is a bit overtuned, especially in the late game, but I also don't think it is just a Yi thing either, I think it is a whole group of AD champs. especially when you hit that 25-30 min window there is a massive spike that most champs, especially AP just can't keep up with. I am curious if it is an itemization thing or more. I am really not sure.

He's specifically good only in the late game. Everything up to that he's pulling negative.

My problem is that it feels like a player can do crap (worse than the avg yi) and still catch up way too fast.

oh well I mean if he can't 1v5 the entire enemy team then I wouldn't have just lost one of my games to Yi being behind and destroying my entire team 1v5. I'm no exaggerating, lol. Wouldn't make a forum about it if I was, it's from experience. and Honestly, i don't see why pros DON'T play him. He's so good against ANY team, even if he's CC'd. So everyone CC's him, wastes their spells, just so his team can follow behind and destroy cause they ALL focused him. Great, now the enemy team just freelo won.

Except that even in a 5v5 you have 5 people with potential CC. That goes 1 to 1 on average unless you are specifically picking champs without CC, in which case any snowballing champ is scary.

and Honestly, i don't see why pros DON'T play him.

Because he's a weak early duelist with a poor 2v2 who can be easily counter jungled by strong early junglers while contributing no utility to a team whatsoever.

He's so good against ANY team, even if he's CC'd.

No he isn't because of the 2 previously stated points.

So everyone CC's him, wastes their spells, just so his team can follow behind and destroy cause they ALL focused him. Great, now the enemy team just freelo won.

Except see the first point.

Most pros play to safe to feed him and he really onyl gets good when people get caught out and he gets a few quick kills. He is one of the cheese champs that people can use in norms and low elo to abuse players who make mistakes.

Why did u even allow game to last 40 mins? Wanted to play for KDA?

321501 votes

funny thing is that at 40 minutes yi starts to get weaker due to zhonyas and ga.

Yi is one of the most predictable champs in the game, and most of his player base is too. Just save 1 hard cc for him and he dies.
