Ranked Match Making heavily skewed this game?

I'm curious how I got in a game with a Diamond 2, yet have a Silver 2 as well as an Unranked player. Nasus was in his first 10, so I assume he was moving on the ladder but I'm just shocked they put him on the latter with a Diamond 2. Like do you start off extremely high in ranked match making then work downward when playing through the first 10? I know we had a Diamond but I still feel it was a bit unbalanced? Idk... I'm frustrated I guess.

Senna (ME) = Gold 4 Ekko = Silver 2 Quiyana = Diamond 2 Caitlyn = Gold 3 Nasus = Unranked (lvl 30 but honestly played like a bronze/iron as he went 0/9/0)

TF = Gold 3 Morde = Silver 1 Ryze = Gold 2 Brand = Platinum 4 Vayne = Gold 3

are you sure youre talking about the right game?

from op.gg i see qiyana is gold, not even in a past season was she diamond, and neither was brand in platinum

though to be fair silver 2 to gold 2 is still a massive differnce. I feel like there should be MMR tiers and only people in those Tiers can be matched with each other. so like silver 4- silver 1 would only have other silver players matched with each other. I feel they could do that all the way to almost challenger then for challenger they should change the system so that it doesn't try and match people to have 50% because that's just cancerous in high elo sense then your stuck trying to carry bad teamates and then if you win you get worse and worse teamates. For instance look at Starcraft 2 or even Chess or other 1v1 games at the high end they can't force 50% winrate so they just start rewarding as many points and to keep a number 1 spot you pretty much have to have like 80% winrates or higher. I think if they allowed challenger players to have more then a 50% winrate over long periods of time it wouldn't feel as bad for people to try and get number one and people in higher elo would actually try and play the game and get number 1 more instead of messing around in slightly lower elo's so that there not forced to play with super bad teamates.
