Why does FiddleStick's Ulti Ignores Snares.

ChaddyFantome··4 votes·1,505 views

Every other movement based ability in the game including summoner spells get interrupted or canceled when snared.

If TF or Ryze try to Ult away, they will be kept where they are if they are snared in that time. Same with TP. But for what i can only assume is because Fiddlesticks is so old and underplayed, His ulti completely ignores this rule, and blinks him regardless.

Snares even prevent Ekko form using his Ulti.

this needs to be looked at.

Now I am not saying that the snare should interrupt his ulti all together, but the blink portion should logistically be blocked, like any other ability.

Well you see...

Spaghetti Snares root the enemy to the ground correct? Well little known fact: Fiddlesticks teleports himself AND the patch of ground he's currently standing in, therefore nullifying the effects of snares.

Oooooooooooooooooooooooohhhh NOW it makes sense! Thanks for clearing that up! ;D

On a similar note, why doesn't riot care that Fiddlesticks is both cancerous to play against and honestly extremely weak rn?

Works just like Ez's E, but drawn out.

Snares PREVENT the spell from being cast, but does not interrupt a spell already in the process of being casted.

Except Fiddlesticks Ulti movement command doesn't get issued until the channel finishes, unlike Ezreal E or Kassadin Ulti.

Again, a good comparison is TP or TwistedFate ulti. You don't actually interrupt the channel, but when their channel ends , if they are snared, they wont actually go anywhere because the snare prevents them from leaving where they are currently standing.

So, why is Fiddle's ulti different in this regard beyond him just not being properly monitored by Rito due to his low play rate? Logistically, a snare should make Fiddlstick ulti in place while he is snared.

So you've never seen Ezreal E out of a Blitz hook before? Ezreal's E has a .5 second cast time. If you CC or do ANYTHING to Ezreal in that .5 seconds after the E cast time starts, Ezreal will blink to the target location regardless of whether he is stunned, rooted, or anything. Other than death, that is.

Fiddle ult works the same way, just the cast time is a channel time and subject to hard CC.

it's like you aren't reading hat i am saying at all.

When Ez does it, he simply ends up snared where he jumps because he jumps before actually gets snared.

Fiddlesticks does not jump before the channel ends and thus should not get to jump.

how much more precise to i have to be before you get the difference?

Kyrrion2 votes

It's like you aren't reading what I am saying at all.

If you hit Ezreal DURING the cast time, he will still jump. If you hit Fiddlesticks DURING the channel time, he will still jump. Ezreal does not jump UNTIL the end of the cast time. Fiddlesticks does not jump UNTIL the end of the cast time.

I do understand what you are saying. What you dont seem to get is that Fiddlesticks doesn't issue a movement command until the channel of his ulti ends. it isn't like Ezral where he already made the jumo before you snare him. Fiddlesticks channels before then making the jump.

When Ez uses his E and you hard CC him, it doesn't stop his Blink. he gets hard CC'd where he clicked the blink to. Fiddlesticks gets interrupted just like TP, just like TF ulti because it is a channeled teleport, just like those abilities.

Fiddle should not be able to blink while snared because the command to make him blink doesn't even get issued until the channel is finished. This is again why TF ulti, Ryze ulti, Teleport etc get blocked by snares. They dont stop the channel, but they stop the movement command that gets issued once he channel is done. What you are trying to posture is that Fiddlesticks ulti is just a very slow Ezreal E, which is not only false, but really reaching and silly.

If that were the case, ti wouldn't even be possible to cancel his ulti to begin with.

But Ezreal didn't make the jump before he was snared.

ChaddyFantome1 votes

For Ezreal to have jumped, he would have to have clicked E before the snare hit him, resulting in him getting hit by the snare right as he jumps and being snared in his landing location. Anything beyond this scenario is false.

It's the same thing, you're only being confused by the length of time that qualifies as "right as he jumps" which is much longer for Fiddlesticks.

ChaddyFantome1 votes

Yo aren't listening are you.

Fiddlesticks ulti is a channel. Ezreal's isn't.

Fiddlesticks doesn't jump until the channel completes. Ezreal jumps as soon as he presses E.

Fiddlesticks therefore should not be able to jump if he is snared as the channel completes.

it's not hard to grasp why this is different.

Ezreal does not jump as soon as he presses E, he goes into a cast animation and jumps after it is over.

If he jumped the instant E was pressed, it would be impossible for him to be hit in his starting position and then be cc'd in his ending position because he would already be in the ending position.

ChaddyFantome1 votes

Okay this is just sad on your part. This is nothing but semantics. It doesn't change the net result. Fiddlesticks goes into a channel, not just a cast animation.

The movement command isn't sent until the channel ends, just like TP and TF ulti, and unlike Ezreal where it is issued as soon as he presses E.

What do you mean "the movement command isn't sent"? The movement destination is sent and set at the start, there's no way to change it during the cast or channel in any of those situations, only certain ways to cancel it that depend on the ability being used.

Designated =/= sent.

Just like TP and TF's ultimate, you choose where you wanna go before you use the spell. You then channel before actually issuing the movement command. Fiddle's Ultimate is the same thing. The command to move isn't sent until the channel actually ends.

Your point being? every other blink gets blocked by it. Also, Flash IS a blink.

Horse Grenades1 votes

It's like Ezreals E. if you get snared as you cast you still get to go forward to the spot and are snared at your new location

And I know flash is a blink, I tried to express that in how I said it. My mistake.

No, this not the same thing. What you are describing is the Lee Sin Q effect. That's when you cast it right as you get hit so the movement command goes though first.

Fiddlesticks doesn't actually issue a movement command until much after he actually ultis, just like TF ulti, Ryze ulti and TP. Again, Kassadin's ulti, which is the same thing as Ez' E, gets stopped.

Horse Grenades2 votes

I understand what you're saying, but since it's already been cast and it's coded as a flash the movement forward still goes through. I understand you disagree, but I don't know if it's a bug.

ChaddyFantome1 votes

Again, it is the same thing with TF ultimate , summoner 12 and Ryze ulti. Why is Fiddle the exception beyond him being old and underplayed, and thus Riot not paying attention to his inconsistencies with the rest of the game?

Horse Grenades2 votes

Again. its NOT the same thing as those. TF and Ryze are both coded as teleports. Fiddles is coded as a blink.

I don't understand what you don't get about that.

Now you are just making stuff up.

The game doesn't make a distinction between "teleports" and "blinks". They are in fact one and the same thing.

Horse Grenades1 votes

Just because they are grouped together on fan made wikipages does not mean they are coded the same. I'm just trying to give you the explanation as to why CC doesn't stop is blink forward. Not justifying. I am just trying to tell you that it's not a "bug"

Horse Grenades2 votes

It's not really "my word," from the behavior of the spells and the similarities between it and Ezreals E, Flash, katarina's shun po, and LB's distortion. They are coded similarly to Fiddle's Crow Storm.

Again, the difference is that fiddlesticks doesn't initiate his jump until the channel ends.

Ezreal E and Distortion for example initiate the jump as soon as you hit the key because they aren't channels.

Fiddlesticks shouldn't be jumping regardless of this because he doesn't actually issue the movement command until the channel ends.

Again, this is why i compare it to TF's Ulti and TP. in those cases, the channel isn't interrupted, but the movement command gets blocked by the snare once the channel ends.

Fiddlesticks Ulti is the same thing but the movement command inconsistently doesn't get blocked.

Horse Grenades1 votes

That's my whole point. It's coded as a blink, not a TP. That is why you can't compare to TF ult, and That is why CC doesn't stop the blink forward. Good God man.

TequilaZombie1 votes

Fiddle's ult is like a slow Motion version of Ezreal's Blink. You have a channel time, but the order to jump at the end of it is already issued. Snared or not, by the end of it you will be at the target location.

No it isn't.

That literally makes no sense.

Again, TP and TF ulti say hi.

If that were the case, why would it even have a channel time unlike Ez E?

TequilaZombie1 votes

Ez E has a channel time, but it's extremely short. Fiddle had the same mechanic applied to him, but with a longer channel. Riot has a thing for recycling mechanics.

TP and TF ult probably have some drastically different coding to the casting time.

This is more about old coding than balance.

ChaddyFantome1 votes

Ez E has a channel time, but it's extremely short.

No, it has a cast time, not a channel time. These are not the same thing.

Claiming Ezreal's Arcane shift has a channel time is like claiming almost every spell has a channel time.

It's probably because it's an ultimate. Do snares interrupt the summoner spell teleport?

It's probably because it's an ultimate.

that doesn't make any sense.

Again, TwistedFate ulti gets stopped by snares.

Do snares interrupt the summoner spell teleport?

yes. Well, if you want to get into semantics, snares don't interrupt anything. What they do is block the movement of the champion once the channel ends.

If I snare someone using TP, the channel still continues, but once it ends, they don't go anywhere because the snare is keeping them rooted in place.

Fiddlesticks should function the same way, but it doesn't.
