Why Won't They Let Us Block People?

If everyone seems to understand the premise of, and is in favor or blocking people meaning they'd be taken out of your queue pool, what is Riot's hesitation with this?

League's ever friendly community would abuse it to kingdom come.

So what? There's millions of players, we should be able to block people if we don't enjoy playing against them. Of course there's situations where it won't work, such as in high elo, where blocking will just lower your enemy pool to make games easier. But for normal games, there's no reason we shouldn't be able to block people from playing against you. I personally play this game for fun, so if I get matched against a Master 7 Zed who constantly BMs and ignores everything in a game to one-shot me, I should be able to block him and never play against him again, and I should be able to block however many people I have to.

That would negatively effect them. Did you even think about this?

If I block 75 people, I get screwed on queue times. It's a self-regulating system.

Can be abused in higher elos

Blocking doesn't take them out of the people you can be queued with because that'd fuck up the system. This has been explained hundreds of times in the past, and has been demonstrated with other games that tried that.

Can you give me some examples, I'm a one-game-at-a-time kinda guy

Overwatch tried it before.

Overwatch tried it before.

What was the downside though? Longer queue times? People keep saying they'd be fine with that.

People abused it to not be matched with people who were "worse" than them.

The biggest example of this would be someone who could not find a match at all.

Right but that seems to be a self-solving issue. If you've blocked too many people - start unblocking them. What am I missing?

yea, we should definitely be allowed to block people. as for "getting matched up with the same people over and over" ok? so? it means you won't actually get to practice against multiple people, and will never improve at the game. also when those players move up in elo and you don't, you'll just never find a match again, until you unblock people and are able to be matched with them. it isn't really that hard.. if i don't want to be matched with people, i shouldn't have to be,
