A quick story about me and IP gating

So back in april of 2015 I had been playing league for a few months. I started on easter, by april i was still playing bot games. I always just played something on the free rotation becasue i had no champions, and i had only gotten a handful of IP at the time. I was looking for a champion on the rotation and saw Aatrox oh boy was he a good looking champ. I really loved his VO, his looks, his abilites, and i played the shit out of him. (you can still find the bot games. I bought crystalline flask on him. ON A MANALESS CHAMPION!). He was amazing. I really wanted to learn him, to main him. So i played a whole bunch of bot games. A week doesn't last forever.

Free rotation switched and now i needed to grind the 6700 IP needed. It was a task that took me 2 whole months. I bough aatrox, played him in a game of norms. fed hard. Played another game. fed hard. Played another game. It was not good for me. I was a very sad man. I realized I couldn't play aatrox. I was terrible at him. I had no IP left. I didn't know you could refund at the time and i was absolutely devastated. 2 months of saving all gone. I almost quit right there. I resorted to champions like garen and twitch then started grinding for more IP. It burned me out of the game until my friend came on and encouraged me to play.
