Everybody always complains how flex q have unbalanced matches and it's obvious why... I'm d5 and playing sometimes against silvers and golds, and vice versa. I'm just finishing up my 10nth game of of flex q and the sad thing I noticed is.... there's no difference between solo q and flex!!! xD I went from plat 3 - diamond 2 and back to diamond 5 in solo q... and matches are almost always unbalanced and one sided. LOL
Anastaecia1 votesOr norms. The bottom line is that the matchmaking system doesn't work. Your MMR is based on wins only which is plain dumb in what amounts to playing pick -up games. How can you judge an individual based solely on wins and losses when they are only 20% of the team? You can't. And yer Riot tries to. Doesn't work, sorry.
ELO type systems are for individuals or concrete teams....not individuals playing on teams that change every game.

The whole concept of soloQ or even flexQ (if not 5v5) IS flawed by design.
Still. It's the BEST (not perfect, maybe not even good, but the best), way to match people. There's no other better ways.
And to be honnest as long as i OTP a few champions and have played more than 30-50 games in a given queue, my matches feel quite balanced, at least most of the time.
Blakiepug1 votesI am a Gold 4 Solo queue player and Silver 1 Flex and I agree the matches aren't balanced at all. The problem is that solo queue rating doesn't influence the flex queue matchmaking process at all. This leads to incredibly unbalance matches with Diamond players carrying premades of Silver friends. Just my last game we were up against a Diamond 4 Renekton who absolutely slaughtered our team's Bronze 1 Gangplank. And of course that same Renekton was in a premade with his Silver friends Caitlyn and Amumu helping them climb the flex queue ladder. How is a match-up like that fair when he is the only Diamond player in that game and the next highest rank is Gold 3?
