@Repertoir are we able to have a conversation about Aatrox?

I know you didn't work on him but maybe you will rework him in the future. I was wondering if you had time to chat a little with players on boards about him?

The main issues I have seen with Aatrox is his laning against him is not very interactive as damage you inflict on him will generally be healed up rather quickly. He has some decent poke which isnt strong per say but feels unsatisfying in that it has no real use late game besides a tiny amount of damage and a slow.

His W gives Aatrox choices in fights but generally the bonus damage is too great to pass up. The only times I have used the healing part are in either wet noodle fights or laning phase to heal up.

His Q is okay but it would be nice if he could have a little more reliability by having a weak slow if the enemy is hit on the outside along with reduced damage?

His passive is huge in making him as weak as he is today imo. He either becomes a monster and his passive lets him do insane stuff, or he is behind and his passive cant do a whole lot to save him due to how ssquishy he is with his base stats.

Which brings up the fact that Aatrox has a very steep gold requirement to be "good" and that he cant build a lot of damage to deal it or build a lot of tank as he will do no damage. He suffers a little from Tryndamere syndrome in that he is either ahead and he stomps you if you look at him, or is your enemy's personal bitch.

His ult could give his team an aoe buff but meh.

Also I looked at Aatrox old numbers and his ult used to do %max health damage on activation, is it okay to try it out again? This was on the pbe.

His laning is actually very strong if you max E. When you hit 6 it's almost always a free kill, so snowballing's pretty easy. His ganks are also amazing if you land Q (which you SHOULD!). His passive is kinda only for the attackspeed buff (which is huge at lvl 18 and still very good at lvl 1). For W - that's generally the point - heals for not fighting champs (or early game) and damage for fights. Alternatively he can use heals if he's against a Mundo or someone. E has bad scalings (unless AP, then decent), but it's a relatively strong AoE slow!

His ult does not need buffs. Somehow I managed to oneshot someone with >half life with Q+E+Ult, even though I wasn't AP. I'm still very confused (actually got 2 kills from one ult, xD). I was totally expecting to have to kill them with auto's after. Admittedly I was very fed, I built WIt's End and Death's Dance, so my abilities were pretty weak and my ult was only ~400 dmg.

That being said, his rework must feel more satisfying than his kit now. I mean, now, he's unoriginal but still fun as crap.
