Sometimes Titles/Roles are Better Than Ambiguity

Sometimes having a champion set at x role is better than saying "oh well they could do x, y, maybe z if you're good." It makes balancing hard and sets people up to picking a side on what that champion is really supposed to be. Two of the biggest contenders for this would be Jungle and Support, but every role has seen this stuff. We've seen it all.

Jungle: (Tank)Ekko, Twitch, AP Shyvana, Karthus Top: Vayne (legit any ranged carry top), Tank Akali, Top Heimerdinger, Hecarim Mid: Soraka (pre VGU), Mid Zilean, Irelia, Riven Support: Brand, Lux, Vel Koz, Naut (believe it or not he was a jungler many moons ago), Veigar ADC: Neeko, that weird era where mages went bot (Ziggs, Cass, etc). ADC has probably been the least affected by this sort of thing.

Most of these were meta defining and quite honestly absolutely hellish to play against. For most Riot likes to take the stance of letting players play how they like, on the other they had to step in and fix it and put the champion back where they belong. And I personally don't see anything wrong with that. If a champion starts to excel at something better than intended to the point where they're better at it than what they're supposed to be doing, then you should know something is wrong. When a burst ap assassin builds tank and its better, you know something is up. When a fighter-off tank builds AP you know something is off. When a new ap burst champion is better building attack speed on hit you know something is wrong. Every champion should be able to be played as intended without being handicapped because doing "y" is better than doing "x".

Ziggs Vladimir Mordekaiser Swain Yasuo are all still viable carry bots, along with Sona when paired with Taric or Nami.
