Why does Azir buy Narshor if he can't use the passive?

Everyone gets on Azir. It is the first recommended item on his list. But there has always been something that bothered me about this. Azir can't use the on hit passive, but he buys it anyway because his options for attack speed and ap are so limited, that he just has to deal with it. This can be seen as item gold inefficiency. No other champ in the game is forced to buy an item where they can't use the passive but then again, what other options does Azir have?

Both of which Azir can't use the passive.

Would it be op if Azir W could add on hit effects? Azir is in such a poor place right now that I figure this might help.

Because Azir still wants the AS, AP, and CDR. Him not having the passive is really no big deal

The good azir doesnt buy nashoor. What you saw are bad azirs

Good azir goes Attackspeed quints Berserkers Nomicon Raba Rylai etc

Drift made a video about it and new season 7 azir builds. It was beserkers, roa, rylais, redemption, then tanky and tank ap items.

Drift King Azir is hated among the Azir Mains community. He's a mediocre Azir player that likes attention, too much.

He releases videos with crazy out of whack builds for clicks and ratings, but he never actually uses them in his own games and when he does he always goes insanely negative. For that build you are referencing he played 3 games... and lost every single one.

The RoA build isn't bad (if you can get it between 9-11 minutes), but you still need nashors for the CDR, AP, and Attack Speed as a second item. After that you can choose to either go into Rylais or void staff, then rabedons, and if you didn't get Rylais early, then finish it off with Zonyas. Of course you fit either Breserkers or Sorc in the game based on what is best, usually after your RoA.

The Newest up and coming build with Azir is actually Stinger or Breserkers into Morellos ever since the Rylais nerf. It's not bad, gives a lot more damage, but you are extremely squishy without any health.

I enjoy the build and it works for me, just saying. Plus I definitely go positive with it more than I did with nashors.

How would making him able to proc on-hit be equivalent to spell effects? On-hit is far stronger. item 1043 passive on its own would probably allow him to win lane. Forget the completed items.

Nashor's Tooth offers the core stats he needs (AP, CDR, Attack Speed) and is over 100% cost efficient even without the passive.

All the other stats from item 3115 are just so good for him it's worth even without the passive. I haven't tested this with rageblade yet, but when Devourer existed they coded it so that Azir was able to proc the ghost attack with his soldiers (yes i played Azir jungle a few times for fun). Hmm i think imma try this out tonight in a custom game! summoner 6

The stats are all great on him and he does SOMETIMES make use of the passive, so you buy it on him.

he can use the passive he wants to attack with his soldiers and nashors tooth is the only ap item with large ap cdr and attack speed most importantly attack speed since he is a mage marksmen. but the nashors tooth is only interacted with when he misses his soldiers (which is super forgiving for missing them and they already have low cooldowns on w and q)
