If I ult but end up dead mid cast, why do I get full CD timers?

Say I am Lux and I go to ult, but get killed mid cast (nothing gets damaged, no beams appear, nothing). Why do I get my full CD timer if nothing happened? I should at least get a heavily reduced one where I is up once I re-spawn, or shortly after, or no CD at all. If not a single benefit was gained by me from ulting but getting killed mid ult, I should have little to no cooldown when I re-spawn. Some champs have benefits from ulting immediately so this would not apply to them. Champions such as Caitlyn TwistedFateJhin Xerath would not have this apply because their ults grant benefit on cast, even if they are not going to damage anyone our be used fully. Champions like Fiddlesticks Nami Sona Karthus Lux where they either have a channel, or can be killed mid cast where their ult "cancels but goes on full CD" would benefit from this.

Sorry this is just not true..

If you die Midcast with Lux and it went on CD, It DID damage if it hit. Or it did not go on CD.

Or you just missed all 5 people in the teamfight and didn't see the damage go off

I have had many times where my ult just didn't cast but the CD happened and I am positive it would have hit.

For Champions like fiddles sticks...that is part of the "skill" or mastering the champion. You have to take in account the delay of your ult, and play smart, plan accordingly, and understand how the ult works.

I am not angry or trying to insult you - it's just with some champion ultimates you have to know how it works and when to use it...and not get caught off guard.

Sorry you had that trouble. Goodluck.

np and maybe fid was a bad example but I feel that he should at least just get a reduced CD instead of the full since he received no returns on the cost and CD.
