Remakes should be at 2 minutes, not 3

ESPECIALLY if the AFK is the Jungler. Not being able to have a leash (or set up your camps for Ivern and Shaco) is really hard to get ahead, or even contest with. You already are 1-2 levels under the opposing Jungler too. Same issue with solo lanes. You are already behind 1-3 waves too. Ant that is seriously disadvantageous when the opposing laner is level 2 or 3 and you are still level 1. Not to mention if they somehow got the wave to freeze on their end or the lane.

The early game is arguably the most important part of the game. So being behind because of an AFK who decided to reconnect at 2 minutes 59 seconds, is at the very least gong to be a very difficult game to win.

At 3 minutes to allow reconnects.

I get that, but just because you reconnected, does not mean there was no impact on the game. Jungler has either no leash (if they were the one who was afk) or has to cover a lane. Honestly if it is not the support who was afk, the game is already in your opponent's hands. If it is the support, then maybe you can salvage the early game if the ADC can still get some farm. Not to degrade the Support Role by any means, but having them AFK is the best option IF there was to be an AFK, because they do not require farm and almost always can still contribute when down in levels and gold.

As the jungler it is probably the hardest because they don't get a leash. But that's it. With an afk, usually the jungler sits in the lane that afked if it's solo lane, then camps the lane when they get back because the jungle has the same exp as the enemy laner.

Anyone who loses because they came a few minutes late pretty much only lose because of these reasons:

  1. They are playing against their counter or some aggressive laner like draven that loves to screw people over early game. Then fed.
  2. They came to lane and didn't play safe. Then fed.
  3. They played the jungler with the worst clear ever, like evelynn, with no leash, and got invaded. Then fed.

Honestly it's the easiest for the jungler, if and only if they don't get invaded. A jungler can always farm up alone and catch up, and a behind jungler doesn't mean any of the enemy laners are automatically strong, and a behind jungler still has a constant source of gold income if they're not invaded.

That's why it's really no big deal if my ADC accidently last hits my red buff.

Tell that to those Junglers who need Blue/Red buff for a decent clear / clear speed.

Also, I would not even call it average. It is difficult. Once the Jungler shows up in a lane because the intended player was AFK, the enemy Jungle immediately goes for their untaken camps/buffs. Also, there is 0 way to provide ganks / counter ganks if you have to cover a lane as the Jungler. You need to hope your opponent does not gank too often and hope your other laners can hold out for a while.

Yeah, but laners should be able to handle themselves without ganks. Perhaps not the one getting camped, but the others should be fine.

On the other hand, a laner being behind means a lane starting at a huge disadvantage, while a jungler can often get themselves back into the game once they get their jungle item.

if one is getting camped and is behind by a ton, and one is AFK, then it is a 3v5 basically
