PSA: Playing with an Assassin on your team.
Assassins are a class that is designed around getting ahead early and steamrolling the game out of control.
Scaling: However, while every class likes gold, the way that assassins scale makes them extremely good when their ahead and extremely bad when their behind. Even if an assassin isn't dying a lot, that's more of the player's skill showing rather than them doing well, a good assassin should have a large number of kills with very little deaths until late game where they most likely trade 1 for 1.
KSing part 1: This means that KSing your assassin constantly for most of the game can cause them some serious trouble, they fall behind faster than almost any other class and the only thing they bring to a team is kill pressure, eventually if you KS them enough you will make your own assassin useless.
Roaming and KSing Part 2: An assassin roams from midlane for 2 reasons, to help apply pressure or because they can't kill their own laner to get themselves ahead. Think of any assassin VS a Swain or Vlad, both are really hard to kill so naturally the assassin player has to get ahead by roaming, they most likely can't CS as well as they'd like so to offset the loss of CS they get kills everywhere else and comeback for their laner once their fed enough. If you KS from an assassin while their doing this, note it's usually fine to take a kill if their ALREADY ahead, you make their roam a lot less worth and ultimately they end up a glorified support because their doing all the damage for you and you simply last hit.
Getting Picks: In addition, don't help your assassin with a pick unless their target is fed or tanky, in most cases the assassin is fine on their own and had a planned out route to kill their target. In most cases and especially when playing with an evelynn, coming with them to kill an ADC or squishy mage will simply make the enemy run away, or reveal your assassins location and ruin the pick.
Ganking for an Assassin: If your ganking for an assassin remember that most assassins do not have CC of their own and also can't really set up a gank for you, this can be hard since a lot of jungler's rely on their laner to set up a gank but for an assassin the person doing the ganking has to do it for them.
Getting Ganked By An Assassin: Like the previous points state, take a look at your assassins CS score and KDA if their doing well on their own just accept the help and don't worry to much about KSing, if not then it would help a lot for you to set up the gank for them with your CC and attempt to give them the kill(but guard your CS with your life, Assassins are very greedy.) Assassins offer a lot of damage but might need your help to catch someone for a gank from time to time, so do your best.
Teamfighting: Assassins don't like to teamfight, most of them at least, because contrary to popular belief, assassins are just as squishy as a marksmen is usually but have to get a lot closer to do their job. Don't be surprised if your assassin looks like their going to flank but then decides not to, for assassins finding an opening during a teamfight is one of the most important steps to become skilled with them and in most cases your assassin knows when a fight won't work out in their favor. Note that in many cases assassins will chose not to teamfight unless they've already gotten a pick, this is common because it removes some danger for them and makes them feel safer.
This is been a Public Service Announcement from an assassin main who's tired of becoming useless after 20 minutes because i couldn't get a single kill and ended up having more assists than my soraka support, have a nice day.
