An intricate guide on how to lantern yourself out of bronze/silver

Alright, let's be honest, many players are "hardstuck bronze/silver" and some of us are tired of hearing it. I have too many league friends i know complaining to be about how bad their team is, how much their bot lane feeds, how much their junglers suck. Every single story is relatively the same and you never hear any originality in most of them.

So here is MY thoughts on escaping low elo Understand that escaping bronze and silver is actually a lot easier than you think, you don't need faker-like mechanics or crazy team macro to do well in a game. However, there are specific cases on bronze and silver elo i would like to highlight, this is going to be a bit of a long rant so if you don't feel like reading an essay, I suggest you move onto the next post.

Anyways. Lets me explain my situation first. I started league in season 5, I was placed in silver 5 but eventually dropped down to bronze 3 by the end of the season because my MMR couldn't tank anymore. (Yes, I wasn't the best player)

While i was there, i specifically focused on some parts of my gameplay that often got me killed. I noticed that i was dying a lot to early jungle ganks, which would often set me behind because i took ignite in 2/3 of my games. when I got back to lane, the enemy laner was up in exp, cs, kills, map pressure and also had a wave resetting at my turret. So here is my first technique.

If you are playing an aggressive champion like: Pantheon Talon JayceDraven , Always hard push the first wave into the turret, and slow push the second wave. This will ensure that you have a huge wave building just outside of their turret range, setting up a nice wave to push towards your turret around the time the junglers wants to gank. (3 min)

The technique i just explained is called Wave Control Wave control is one of the most important parts of winning your lane, often I see people in silver and Bronze backing after a kill immediately, or not pushing the wave into the turret causing a freeze for the enemy laner. Controlling your wave dictates what the enemy jungler can do to you. They can either- 1. Leave your lane and go try and gank another lane. 2. Farm. 3. Invade your own jungler. 4. Attempt to dive you. Of these 4 options, only the fourth one will actually affect you.

Map Awareness Lets talk about this. You have probably heard a lot of pro players talking about this if you read guides or watch elo climbing videos often. Map awareness consists of two parts, awareness to keep yourself safe, and awareness to keep your team safe. I dont know how often I’ve played jungle in bronze-silver elo where i invaded the enemy jungler consistently without any reaction from the top or midlaner. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE. keep your eyes on the map. If your jungler dies in his OWN jungle more than once, thats on you. maybe not 100%, but 90% for sure. if you see the midlaner missing as an adc, you must immediately go behind your turret, there is a very high chance for a 4 man in bot lane if even one lane goes missing. You should always ping missing in your own lane followed by caution or danger pings in the lanes you THINK they might be roaming to, do not just ping your lane once and be done with it, chances are other players do not have great awareness.

Team Comp This is something that bronze-silver and even gold players have a tendency to just completely disregard. I will give a few cases of team comps that will have an EXTREMELY high chance of you losing the game.

  1. AD top, like: Riven Gangplank Tryndamere , AD mid, like: Yasuo Zed Talon , AD Jungle, like: Shaco Khazix LeeSin, at this point. You dodge. You run off and never look back. Its seriously not worth the risk for such a team comp, high risk, low benefits. Avoid.
  2. More than one adc. Yep. Do not even give these people a chance. If you see: Vayne Lucian Draven Jhin in any lane other than bot, dodge immediately. Twitch Jungle, Quinn top and Corki Mid are exceptions, but honestly if your team already has an adc and they pick this, its safer to just dodge.
  3. Yasuo, zed or lee sin (2 or more) on the same team. If you see this dodge. Its a hidden code to lose lp; just dodge immediately. X Zed X Yasuo X LeeSin X

Champions to Play First of all let it be known that you can climb with any champion. However, I think you have a much greater success in low elo if you play these champions. Akali Diana Annie Illaoi Tristana Brand Garen Leona Ofc you don't have to play these champions, these are only recommendations.

Your Role I guarantee you will climb much faster if you choose one role in the game and play different champions in that one role instead of maining all roles and playing all champions. You will become much more accustomed to matchups in your own lane and will see a steady increase in winrate assuming you play consistently.

Wrapping up Try to pick champions who scale better into the mid/late game. I noticed that bronze/silver games often go past the 35 minute mark. These are a examples of champions who are nearly completely useless in teamfights after 40 min+ LeeSin Pantheon Khazix (of course there will always be exceptional games, but in a game where the enemy has adequate cc, these champions offer little to no help in teamfights thanks to their single target spells and lack of tankiness. Champions like Vladimir Anivia Gangplank Malzahar Twitch have a much better chance at succeeding in the late game.
