Riot has finally made me consider quitting

This article will be talking about the patch 8.16 nerfs to wukong and what riot plans to do to "compensate" him in patch 8.17. I remember clearly when i first read the 8.16 patch notes for wukong in the pbe. "Ad ratio and base damage down on his q?" This can't possibly be a real nerf i thought to myself. I managed to convince myself for the time being that riot was a sensible company and would realize that these nerfs were unjustified. I watched in awe as everything i thought was mistaken and the nerfs hit live as easily as rain fell from the sky. I remember testing the new wukong out on pbe thinking maybe i could cope with the nerfs only to feel obscene levels of frustration when i was unable to oneshot an adc who was 2 levels below me (with me having duskblade and youmuus and him having no armor whatsoever) i continued to watch wukong's progression as patch 8.16 continued to sink in. I watched as his winrate slowly deteriorated from a 54% to 46% dropping an entire 10%. I watched as he became a tier 5 champion in all 3 lanes he was played in. I watched as my own rank dropped from diamond 3 to diamond 5, and the whole time i was thinking to myself: no way riot was going to let this change go unnoticed. Surely they would fix his abysmal state in 8.17 and bring the old wukong i felt so comfortable with back. Today i read riot meddler's thoughts on how they would compensate for wukong's loss of power. They planned on giving him "sustained damage." When i first read these words, i felt reassured. At least riot realized how badly they screwed up my champion and are working to resuscitate him. I went to search up what exactly riot meant by "sustained damage" in the patch 8.17 notes. I found a small detail at the very bottom saying wukongs attack speed- "raised from 0.6 to 0.7" my brain stopped working at that moment. I didnt know what to feel anymore. Wukong as an ad caster/ assasain is not an autoattack carry like yasuo or tryndamere. What good is a 0.1 change of attack speed going to compensate for the ad ratio and base damage nerf on his q? Not only that but his e also received a nerf a few patches before that. I think every assassain player can relate to me in someway. Imagine zed or talon getting a massive nerf on their q, then riot comes back in a few weeks and tells you they're going to give them a 0.1% ATTACK SPEED buff to make up for it. I didnt know what to do anymore. I have mostly respected riot's decisions on most balance changes and while i disagreed with some, i thought they were tolerable. I love league of legends and want to continue playing it, so this thread is my last plead for riot to revert the nerfs or compensate wukong in a manner that actually matters. For the first time in 4 years i am seriously considering quitting due to these changes alone. I hope riot will read my message and reconsider their nerfs on patch 8.16 as they TRULY were unjustified. (For anyone claiming wukong was strong due to his winrate, it's easy to sit from a position as someone who doesnt play wukong and criticize his damage only a wukong main will tell you correctly just how hard it is to establish a lead against any meta toplaner. Its almost impossible to trade with a bruiser/tank and all fighter matchups are even at best. It takes one of the worst laning phases in the game to achieve that oneshot champion so many players are claiming as "op")

Wukong deserves to stay garbage until he is reworked. It sucks but it is necessary.

Wukong as an ad caster/ assasain is not an autoattack carry like yasuo or tryndamere.

Wukong was played as an assassin. The 100-0 Q wasn't a healthy interaction, so Riot's trying to rework him into a fighter/bruiser. This attack speed buff may not be enough, but it's what they're starting with.

Imagine zed or talon getting a massive nerf on their q, then riot comes back in a few weeks and tells you they're going to give them a 0.1% ATTACK SPEED buff to make up for it.

If Zed or Talon were frequently obliterating people with their Q's, then everyone would probably breath a sigh of relief. Which is what's happening with Wukong right now.

Don't care, he'd get fully reworked anyways so we people could stop whinning about him. Unless people would then say "Omg but I miss old Wukong he was so balanced despite being unhealthy and because I mained old Wukong!!1!!". Monkey sees, monkey do.

But if you're a Wukong main, why is your name "Wife in Lantern"?

Maybe ask yourself why you think it's okay for you to 1 shot the adc with such a an easily used kit? You literally jump out of invis with no reaction time, and you want to 1 shot the enemy carries while CCing the rest of the enemy team who you didnt Q click on.

Sorry but wukong deserved nerfs, nothing about his kit is a healthy thing for an assassin, imagine if kat's ult applied grounded effect and a slow around her, she'd be bonkers. Wukong is an old relic of a champion from a simpler times where his kit was considered a good example for a skrimisher, but slowly he turned into a point and click assassin with the engage that can rivale some tanks. He needs a small gameplay update, but leaving him at the state of 1 shotting carries is not a good place to leave him at until that happens.

Having 54% winrate in 3 roles is absolutely nerf worthy.

Wukong had 51%+ winrate for at least 4 SEASONS, he was always a quite strong champion, and with him becoming an assassin and performing very well in Mid, Top and Jungle this season, he definitively deserved a nerf. He was not a big issue in Diamond+ but players really started abusing him in all other elos.

I watched as his winrate slowly deteriorated from a 54% to 46% dropping an entire 10%.

That's a 8% drop, not 10%, and that's only Diamond elo. Also, you are complaining about a 46% (which is actually 50% in general, the 46% is only in diamond) winrate right now, but do you think a 54% winrate is healthy, specially in 3 different roles? You never mention how strong Wukong was before, and why riot decided to nerf him the first place.

I agree that the attack speed increase doesn't make much sense, though, that's not the right way to buff him.

You're assuming wukong is meant to be an assassin. I don't think riot intended this play style and are shifting him back to his originally intended play style which is a fighter.

I feel the nerfs were justified his kit has some extreme uninteraction in it.
