personally i'd rather have a pantheon on my team than a shen unless they are very good with shen...
pantheon offers way more than shen does and is less likely to lose lane to a lane bully
if you look at nocturne, his popularity has dropped dramatically, but he can still inear instantly dash to the enemy carry and prevents the opposing team from haivng sight of their allies for several seconds, pretty much forcing either a retreat or giving kills to your team, probably both and of course unless they're kalista/corki/tristana, the carry has no direct escape method
but it leaves it as a problem that some champions, like nocturne, weren't built with a kit that could handle mobility or crowd control, jinx for instanc woud just toss down her flame chompers unless she was instantly deleted, something very unlikely as tanky nocturne but more than likely on glass cannon one
twisted fate should have kept his global range, but the pros were too good with it and made basically every lane uneven once they forced a back off
but i'm not even sure how that happens because twisted's burst is suboptimal at best and he is outranged by everyone, even mordekaiser mid can just punish him thoroughly and if he's against an assassin, he has to play it very safe or he will die
