Is Darius bleed supposed to give Black Cleaver stacks?

So I didn't really play Darius much before his rework, but I played a game with him earlier and I noticed that I was getting full cleaver stacks from like... one or 2 autos because the bleed ticks were each applying a stack of Cleaver shred.

I'm pretty sure it didn't used to happen, since bleed used to be magic damage, but is physical now.

I know Darius was somewhat weak after his update, especially compared to the other juggernauts, but it FEELS like he should probably not have essentially "every auto or bladed Q hit applies 5-30% armor shred, ramping up over time" for getting , especially on top of his passive armor pen on E, which is now leveled second because W is a one point wonder with no increasing slow or attack speed slow

Yes, it applies physical damage, so it applies BC. That's why it was a buff, and that's why you rush BC on Darius now.

I didn't feel like he was, with the exception of his ult feeling so much weaker now that he has shit native AS growth and no reason to build AS items so building up bonus damage on it sucks.

but the general consensus seems to be that he's a little underwhelming, he's getting buffed next patch.

He gets 200 bonus ad on blood rage at level 18 and when he applies it on one person he automatically gets max stacks when he hits someone else with a short time.

They removed his innate Armor Penetration, so I'm pretty sure that changing his bleed to physical damage--thus allowing Cleaver to stack--was 100% intentional.
