make dodge penalty worse

they need to make the penalty for dodging something more. more lp loss/mmr for each game you dodge making people who abuse the dodge system punished for making games take too long to start/fake win rates.

It takes usually 5-20 minutes to start a game which is quite ridiculous. This is a big issue in high elo, where people are scewing winrate. It's just insane getting 3-5 queues and it takes this long to make a game.

And that happens...How often?

I've seen it once in the past four years. Literally only once. You can't really pretend something incredibly rare is super common.

...Fam I'm silver IV. My ranked MMR puts me in S1-G4 at best.

I'm pretty far from high elo.

I've seen it probably 2-3 times on this account in all my ranked games (about 200+).

also @Yas, you would see less of this in low elo if people played the game and just reported them.

"mAkE DoDgE pENaLtY wOrSE," until your jungler locks in Soraka summoner 11 summoner 1

i'd gladly play the game and report them. I don't care about mmr because if I believe I am good then I will climb regardless.

Also, these people who troll and hold people hostage get away with it because people dodge. Play the game and you will get your "justice" people crave so much.

I know, but sometimes I have a limited time to play and I don't want to waste my time. I am a trash low elo player. I am not going to be climbing any time soon so I just want to have fun. I don't want a trash asshole holding me a hostage to ruin my limited time.

shit happens. you can't always have luxery in your life/perfect scenarios. But because everyone expects the best scenario, no one gets a perfect scenario.

Play the game and don't dodge. report them. over time it won't be much of an issue as it is now. selfishness is bad.

Why don't you apply this logic to how the dodge system is now? why ruin a majority of the games players time for one player who doesn't wanna wait for que? The dodge system is fine in place, and usually high elo players have alt accounts anyways to avoid the dodge timer, either way your are most likely playing with them anyways.

That makes one of us. I'd rather avoid these people completely.

To each their own, I'm not going to claim you're wrong that something needs done for dodgers. I get both sides - nobody likes to wait, and nobody likes trolls.

Though punishing them harder is actually more punishing for you as well - if they make dodge timers ridiculous, it'll negatively impact queue times as a whole. They need a different method for those who dodge consistently. the 6 minute timer is fine for an occasional dodge...but those who reach these higher levels of lockouts in the span of a few games should receive punishments similar to afks. Currently, that means LPQs, which pose the same problems of raising queue times, but having to deal with it for multiple games before it removes itself instead of just a once-or-twice wait that doesn't cause further issues, as well as a punishment that sticks on their record, would mean that people would be less likely to make queue dodging a habit for everything, ever.

If you think about it, habitual queue dodgers are people who entered champion select to make a commitment to a game, then decided "nah, not this one." To dodge once or twice from technical issues or seeing someone lock in Smite/Cleanse Nunu support is one thing...to consistently dodge multiple games and get these huge timers shows you're in need of more motivation to remain committed to entering a lobby. Also, queue dodgers are also among the highest risk of in-game afk behavior, so I don't see why hitting them for always dodging lobbies would be a bad thing.

no. dont. dodging is a mechanic just like any other mechanic. dodging is helpful and i think you should not be punished at all for it. its not false win rate. its true win rate because you learned the mechanic of dodging.

ban none is happening in every elo and if you want to make sure they wont do it 90% of the times before the bans start ask for a ban.

its happening because people want to face every champion to learn the match up.

how can you beg them to ban something when they already clicked on it? you cant beg them to ban before they ban because you dont know if they will ban or not

dodging is ok if you have to go somewhere. i dont see a reason to dodge due to a troll or "my team is bad cuz this website said so". there is a "reason" but it isn't a good reason and leads to issues. people need to think for the long term health of the game instead of their selfish, short term goals that only gets worse and worse. it's like capitalism.

letsfeedtogether1 votes

well thats a really good reason actually. if you have 3 aoto filled or 3 people in a losing streak DODGE. their team comp is good against yours? DODGE. i'd think a dia 1 player would know that. my bad.

i do not see why its selfish to not hurt anybody (+2 minutes in Q wont kill you) and even if it is. its fine, the player want to have fun and knows he wont if he dosent dodge? DODGE

if people are on a losing streak it actually means they are more likely to win their next game (or if you want to believe something else, at least a 50/50).

can climb in solo Q with any champ/any comp. Doesn't matter as long as you are a good player(s) and good team play. I'm an EX rank 1/challenger player and I didn't abuse duo Q/queue dodging in SOLO queue. I practice what I preach. If I complained about a problem but did it myself, that's a really stupid way to go about things. I follow the "be the change you want" instead of doing what everyone else does and wishing it was better.

Dodging leads to potentially more dodging as people might not have enough time, boring waiting that long for a game. See, the mentality of "it's just 1 dodge" actually is a domino effect where everyone dodges because "it's just 1 dodge" in their minds. It is selfish for that reason and other reasons as I said.

you can't know whether or not you'll have fun in a game. If you aren't having fun in a game in general and only get fun from dodging, are you actually having fun/enjoying the game for what it is? The only thing to fear is fear itself, but instead you fear bad games.

letsfeedtogether1 votes

No. it means they're probably tilted. alot of big challenger streamers dodge. but dodge on stream only when they know they wont win. they say it them selfs.

nightblue - dosent dodge because he is "working" (dosent want to make his viewers wait the 6 minutes timer)

imaqtpie - dodges when he knows he will lose

boxbox - just talked about it not too long ago and said how important it is,

shiphtur - just like imaqtpie

these are the streamers i watch so i dont know about others :)

if you do not have time to wait the another 2 minutes. do not play. going in to a game when you have time for the time you think the game will go for and only this. thats my friend, selfish.

where did i say i have fun only from dodging? i said i have fun winning and i win more when i dodge because i do not have to deal with trolls, bad team comp and tilted teammates

Increase queue lockout timers and increase the reset timer.

One day is a joke for a penalty reset, and 5 minutes is a joke of a delay.

I'm not in favor of increasing LP/MMR penalties, but longer time penalties would be great. And, of course, penalties for dodging ARAM and ARURF, as well as any other gamemode where you don't decide your champion, needs to be quintupled. Tripled at the absolute least. It should take longer to get past the dodge than to just play out the game where you didn't get the champ you wanted.

######Edit: I had the wrong words entirely lmfao.

honestly the normal game thing prob wouldn't do much just need more punishment for dodging. When you click "accept" on that ranked game you should be committing to a ranked game and just play the best you can.

Instead, people expect absolutely the most perfect performance out of people, and only done the way they want it to be done. People also dodge a lot when there champs get banned or duo Q abuse combos such as twitch/lulu/yi get banned.

Just putting a timer would make the people who just want to play the fucking game and actually get better at different things instead of playing league of queue dodge/manipulate the match making system because people care about MMR more than their individual skill.

It's honestly crazy. The games I have everyone flames and people have huge grudges over people who they think are "inting" (just because they died a lot =/= inting). Instead of getting better at different roles if you get auto fill'd and different champions, it's just "I only play 1 champ if it's banned/im auto fil'd I dodge" and "if I think we lost im going to dodge".

The worst part is they all dodge at the last second. They don't dodge when they see who's on their team, or their main was banned. They literally waste EVERYONE'S time until the last second. It's fucking the most brutal shit ever. I can barely play this game as it is and I have to deal with this shit?

People dodge because they care too much about MMR. So imo if it kept getting worse the more you dodged then it makes people who dodge once in a blue moon for w/e reason less impacted and the people who follow MMR guides on judging your team @ champ select and go fuck off.

I agree that dodging in a mode where it's impossible to dodge unless you closed the client should be penalized very severely if nothing else changes about dodging.

As for draft games, I think closing the client should simply get you a loss immediately. Full LP penalty. There's no reason it should be any other way. If people want to not be held hostage the only thing they can do is leave the game. All enabling dodging does for Riot is allow players to decide before the game even starts that they cannot win, and that goes against he Summoner's Code, if they even remember what that stood for anymore, then they would have removed the ability to dodge already.

If someone's AFK in a draft they could be treated the same as AFK in the game...you can report them for AFK and if it's true they can be punished however is appropriate. I don't really get why they feel like they have to make it complicated.

DuskDaUmbreon1 votes

Eh. Part of the reason I don't want to go that far is because sometimes crashes and/or bugs happen, and sometimes there's actually blatant trolls. Which is also part of the reason I want the first dodge to still be fairly light, as long as the time it takes to reset the dodge tier is increased.

Im okay with dodgers. Id rather have someone dodge then play a lane they are gonna be terrible in and or throw the game so everyone takes an LP loss. Or if someone doesn't get the lane they want they can just troll. It's not worth it. I actually think the dodge system is fine as it is

but if they actually played the lane/champ then they would eventually get good. you are only making the problem worse by doding/someone else dodging.

long term it's better not to dodge. short term it is better, but it leads to you "having" to dodge more.

SanKakU1 votes

Maybe for normal draft. For ranked, it just makes no sense.

Darkdemon6531 votes

I'll agree when they fix the problems that make dodging required.

Sky Cardis1 votes

Personally...Sure a dodge penalty can be worsened...But if these people want to leave and can't because of the harsher penalty...do you really want that player on your team...? Sounds like they won't go in 1/2 hardheartedly...or get 1 death and start throwing the game in aggravation.

I rather let the dodgers go to save me the trouble...but that is just me.
