all you need to do is NOT LOSE IT if you need help THEN PING if they are 5/0 and your 0/5 .. DON'T try to 1v1 them Not dying is MUCH more important than getting a kill

If you're 0/5 aren't you worth like 15g anyway?

LankPants5 votes

Every 1000 gold earnt through farm reduces your death streak by 1, so no, you'd be worth around 200 assuming you're not being zoned off of every wave.

Drukyul1 votes

Well the walk back from base 5 times and the severe item discrepancy makes me think you'd be zoned out pretty well.

Whether or not you need to win the lane would probably depend more on the lane matchup.

In most cases, you don't need to win your lane. However, If you are playing against someone like Nasus or Jax, both of whom have really strong lategames, you need to make sure that you win the lane or else your lane opponent will outscale you. Likewise, if you are playing as someone like Garen, who has a really strong early game, you also need to make sure you win the early game or else you won't be too useful in the mid-late game because you didn't snowball.

I also think it is worth noting that you can still win the lane when both players end 0/0, either through a farm advantage, from getting a turret lead, or making other plays around the map that help the other lanes.

But yes, as a general rule, you just need to not lose the lane.

Worst Mid Ever4 votes

the goal in bronze-gold is to kill your lane opponent faster than your teammates can feed, you can play safe and be 0/0 with perfect cs but when you group for teamfights their 5/8 mid is still going to dumpster you

AFK Push1 votes

If you're 0/0 and farmed very well, and that mid is 5/8, they will probably be a much lower level than you do to all of the farm they lost while being dead.

HeWolf1 votes

Trust me, Worst Mid Ever is right. I'm a fairly passive player and I can't raise my ELO because I can't put enough kill pressure on my opponents, while if some of them do, my (usually) higher farm it's not enough to kill a 7/7 Zed.

I know when to push, when to freeze, when to do drake and what to build. But I don't have tha mechoniks to smash anyone in lane to a 0/5.

So yeah, winning lane at low ELO is more important than you may think. However, not dying 16 times after you lost an early trade could help the rest of your team to stand a chance.

AFK Push1 votes

you need to play AP Lee Song Support, then you can get challenjour.

HeWolf1 votes

I'll follow vvvortic-sempai's advice!

So true lol i have an alt account that is bronze and this is what always happens to me. ELO HELL

This is what separates silvers from bronze.

Now if only people would listen..

junglerboy163 votes

I completely agree.

HOWEVER: What do you do when you are in a snowball matchup and you made that one crucial mistake that means even walking near your lane is a free kill? I have been in that situation, told my team "Guys, I'm not going back to mid, because each time I do, I'll get instagibbed." They didn't listen and told me to go back to mid. I couldn't just stand in base, so I had to return to the Leblanc Veigar duo lane without enough gold to get a Zhonya's, and literally took 2 steps before they blew me up (I was still behind my own tower). I tried farming jungle camps, but our "AFK farm FTW" Tryndamere jungle got mad at me when I asked him to swap to mid so I could farm safely and he could avoid getting one-shot while getting the mid farm.

What do you do in those situations?

HeWolf1 votes

I've lost lanes against Zed and Akali. Living hell is not even near to describe what it was to come back to lane.

junglerboy161 votes

In my situation, It wasn't even living (hehe). Literally, stun or no stun, Veigar would ult me and then Leblanc would dash in for the kill in the same instant. you can't counterplay being dead.

HeWolf1 votes

GA LOL

jk Bad game hope you don't experience that again (in a while, those ones always happen)

Desmond Law1 votes

I mute them and then go gank a lane and stay there.

Yeah, that's great when your ADC, JG, and Top all go 5/0. When they don't, though? When they're somehow performing even worse than you, even though you're countered in lane with shit farm? If all you do is sit back and wait to capitalize on your opponents' mistakes, you will lose.

You will lose because Riven will not sit and wait, she will go 13/9 and say "wtf that's not feeding, it's worth". You will lose because your Hecarim will blindly charge over an Annie Q away into the enemy team, with absolutely no chance of follow up. Every. Single. Time. You will lose because Ezreal thinks that he is better off farming than trying to win the game, and you will lose because the enemy team is smart enough and capable enough to 5v1 the only person on your team actually doing well.

And of course, they will never, ever surrender.

YOU BEEN WARNED2 votes

Brought to you by your friendly support main, who can't carry herself for beep.

Take her word to follow her path, or learn to carry yourself in normals then play ranked!

Old Man Teeto2 votes

Actually this is incorrect.

If both champions scale equally, then yes, this is correct.

However, when playing champions with high early game pressure and stronger early breakpoints for both level and item thresholds of power, you have to actually DO something with that strength.

Just as many games are lost because one team played too passively and let the other team farm up and outscale them.

However, if you're doing poorly in a lane, either because your lane opponent actually is better than you or some other interference (normally jungler or mid lane roam). It's better to put the lane into a standstill where you give up as little advantage as possible and hope the rest of your team can pull through for you.

Ablogqwer2 votes

Counterpoint: If you're playing a champion that HAS to engage or is otherwise out-ranged by your opponent (alternatively your opponent with a slight lead can ALL IN and kill you) you need to just leave lane.

Farm jungle or ask for a laneswitch.

KMannnnn11 votes

I agree. Too many times I see my friends and teammates dying repeatedly because they feel some need to go aggressive pre-6 as a Vayne, when they would be better off just farming and waiting until they scale into a monster. When people try to stomp without game knowledge, they just end up having a bad time.

Well, it depends, I'd say, don't pick Darius Garen Riven LeeSin Renekton Rumble if you plan on playing passively and farming, snowball champions are meant to take risks.

flibitydoo1 votes

Rumble has a fantastic ultimate for teamfights at all phases of the game though.

and Renekton, Darius and Garen have all had their lategames significantly buffed Lategame, Renekton has better in combat sustain; Garen has better out of combat sustain; and Darius potentially has his ultimate up for every teamfight which is kind of a big deal since he is a walking ultimate champion in the lategame.

Lee sin's mobility and utility also make him a pretty decent champion lategame.

Riven's the only one who I would say falls off lategame. She's still squishy lategame and is very susceptible to exhaust. That being said, she is technically a melee carry (like Fiora) who can output some heavy damage lategame.

Pantheon stfu lux i won my lane Blitzcrank nice gold panth lol bjerg level of cs

Windfallen1 votes

Cringe How does one find the time to die 19 times in a match?

Rikari1 votes

He tried. _REEEALLLY _ Hard. (not intentionally feeding though)

Squeekems1 votes

I like to exaggerate my losing.

If I have 0 kills and my lane opponent has 3, I pretend they have 3 times my health. That is how I keep myself from trying to 1v1 them unless they are at a quarter of health.

AFK Push1 votes

If you're 0/5 to the enemy laner, you shouldn't be asking for help from your junglers cause chances are that ganking that lane will end up in a double for them. You should be more like, "Ill soak up exp, and farm under tower, jungler win another lane etc." That lane is lost at that point, and you are worthless unless you roam and make plays, or somehow farm back up to relevance. Roaming is probably the easier at that point.

Colgate Gator1 votes

Many people understimate the value of farming.

You don't even need to murder your opponent to win the lane, but keep farming and prepare for the mid game.

Laura ß1 votes

Sure, while your team feeds and blames you and reports you for not being in the (usless) fight.

djjomon1 votes

And don't blame your jungler if you're behind either. Even if they refuse to gank. If you must, give up your tower

BluePolarizer1 votes

+1 please please please do not fucking try to make LCS plays if you are first time shaco or something. If you are first time ranking something, first of all, don't. second, if you are, stop fking thinking you are 100th game shaco with Bjergson mechanics.

slippykitten1 votes

The problem is every player thinks they are the carry, and that the game is lost if they dont carry. Pride loses most lol matches

TOP LANE AND MARKSMAN NEED TO READ THIS ESPECIALLY!!!!

I agree with the spirit of this post.

Potato Doc1 votes

This concept is why I love doing lane swaps in soloQ, about 90% of the time I understand my role where as my would be lane opponent doesnt, leading to them getting destroyed and my adc fed
