One main reason you are still in bronze or silver....

Team comp.

The average player has absolutely no idea the importance of team comp. Peel, Crowd Control, Focusing, all of these go out the window, and it's one of the major reasons players lose games. Players feel they can pick their fave champ every game and carry every single game. Some champs are designed to do that (Diana, Azir, Kat) but they need to get going and land a number of kills.

It would be helpful if Riot had a suggestion option in team select. Perhaps this would only be available at levels 1 - 30, and be disabled in ranked play. It will at least give new players the information they need IN game on what champ counters what. and also what is needed to fully make a team flush.

Honestly if you're good enough, then team comps don't matter, but if you're maybe mid gold level and trying to climb out of silver, then it could mean a lot. I don't know how many times I've seen a master yi go legendary, whether on enemy team or my team, and still lose because they simply had nobody to soak damage while I played a cinderhulk bruiser in the jungle with amazing AOE and CC to synergize with my support and top laners ultimates and just rape them despite being underfed. I guess guides could help with this, but ultimately I feel like this is something the player should learn by themselves. Same reason why riot doesn't even have a guide for new players to learn how to jungle. I had to watch stonewall and other youtubers talk about it and learn it myself.

team comp means almost nothing in solo queue, lanes just snowball hard and the game is over

Yep, if you're Bronze/Silver it isn't because your allies picked the "wrong" champions, it's mainly due to making poor decisions. Often times people like saying that go 20/x/x and lose "because of their team", and then you check their stats for objectives and notice they took 0 towers.

One of the worst decisions people make are really before they even play, and that's the decision to think they do no wrong and that everyone they are paired with are brainless.

I'm stuck in silver 2/1 and I can tell you, it isn't about team comps. It's 99.9% based off of early game and maintaining the win. Don't do one of the 2 and you lose.
