Why I'm done with this game.

To start off, I've been playing this game since early seasom two. This has always been the game that brought me and my friends together, but from now on out I'm seriously done with this game.

A minor reason is that Riot has displayed an interest in esports over the players. Another is that they obviously do not wish to balance the game.

However, the straw that broke the camel's back has to be as follows. For the past week I've been playing with people who afked, ragequit, flamed, or otherwise intentionally fed. For last few days I've been playing with people who were high, and even a group of people tripping on acid. And guess what happened?

A week back the guy working on my lawn, cutting my sod, accidentally cut my fiber optic cables, which were for some reason placed an inch deep instead of the legally required six inches. Today, just this last game, an emergency came up, and I had to leave the game for 3-5 minutes (I wanted to finish the game before I left, so I came back immediately). I came back just barely in time to see us lose, and I got out of the game only to be met with low priority queue. I've never been hit with any punishment for the 4 years that I've played league, and this alone really wouldn't have been what made me quit.

But all of this combined has made me sick and tired of playing League. I had alreay quit for close to a year prior to coming back to give the game another chance a month back. And you know what? I was almost fooled into thinking Riot and the game had improved. I'm sorry to say I was wrong. I thought that Riot wasn't like other game companies, but boy was I wrong.

Goodbye League community.

Et tu, Riot?

You do know that you get a leavebuster by consistently leaving games right?

I left two games. In the span of a week, wherein I played at least a dozen more.

I haven't left a game in at least a year before that.

How is Riot supposed to know there's an emergency? They can't watch the chat on every single game played to see why someone left and if it's deemed fair...not to mention how many people lie about it. You leave for a certain amount of time and you get low priority queue...yes it sucks when you have to leave for a legitimate reason, but for those that just up and rage quit, or for a dumb reason, they DO need to get punished.

You got low priority queue...it's not like you were banned for 2 weeks or permabanned.

So you expect the people that are in your team that rage quit or whatnot to get punished, but YOU leave game, legitimate reason or no, and you shouldn't be? Sounds foolish to think that. I know very well that if I"m in the middle of the game and my boyfriend has to get rushed to the hospital, I'll get leaver buster and low priority queue. I'm not going to complain to Riot or quit the game because of that...that's just foolish.

Riot did nothing wrong here.

As someone who has been here since S1, and also just returning from somewhere between a 1-2 year break, I have some of the same feelings.

Riot's priorities are not aligned with those of the game or the players, and likely haven't been for some time. Often they seem to go flat out against them.

Exactly this. Anyway, I'm happy to be out. Just wanted to check in and say that quitting League (again) has been a great decision.
