How will Ranked work in the next several weeks?

Despite playing for years and years, I've never properly been invested in ranked and honestly, since ultimately League is really just a game, I decided, eh, why not try do so properly for once (if it ends up going nowhere, so be it). But I'm so unfamiliar with the ranked system that I essentially have zero clue as to how it will work in the next coming several weeks.

So, Season 9 officially ends in a few days (or hell, may already have ended, I dunno). Does that mean Pre-Season 10 starts immediately? If so, how does ranked in the pre-season work? Does ranked even exist in the pre-season? If so, how will playing ranked in the pre-season affect 'normal' Season 10?

Thanks in advance guys!

When Preseason starts you can still gain LP and ranks but whatever rank you are on November 19 at 00:00 is the rank you will get rewards based on.

So let's say you're plat 1 on November 19 at 00:00 but you climb to Diamond 4 the next day you will get rewards based on being Platinum 1.

During New season placements you usually start a tier below where you were.

So if you come out of the preseason as Diamond 4 there's a good chance you'll start Platinum 4.

Preseason starts straight after the rank season ends. Playing ranked does not effect your season 10 ranked games or qualifiers.
