Yes we need a tank movespeed items because my vi isnt charging fast enough

srsly man it they could just give tanks items without breaking bruisesr they would do it years ago

Except I'm pretty sure a Frozen Heart-esque item would be much more useful on Alistar, Nautilus, and Maokai than on most fighters

Knight SoIaire 1 votes

the thing is that fighters use EVERYTHING even the frozen heart

If you're building basically pure defense on Vi then she is a Tank.

A Tank is a Fighter or melee-Mage who can:

  1. Initiate team fights
  2. Peel for their team
  3. Represent a significant threat over time, forcing them to be focused
  4. Soak oodles of damage

So long as you sit on your Ult in case one of your soft buddies gets jumped, Vi fills all four criteria for a True Tank. Her initiate isn't as strong as, say, Amumu. But she makes up for it by being a HUGE threat over time if ignored.

a tank as a role is a guy who soaks the damage up without dealing it vi who builds full tank is just a realy durable fighter not a tank braum is a tank

  1. Initiate team fights
  1. Peel for their team
  2. Represent a significant threat over time, forcing them to be focused
  3. Soak oodles of damage

champions can cover up those points without being tanks also 3rd point is what tanks areNOT supposed to be (hence loads of tanks has to get a rework, because all they realy are atm are just realy tanky fighters or walking meatsacks)

No, he's got a solid list there for tanks. You're misinterpreting the third point to mean a damage threat.

This was something LoL had to figure out a LONG time ago about tanks: this isn't an MMO, and other people don't have an aggro system. Building tanky in LoL doesn't do anything for your team if you're not the one taking damage. For you to be the one taking damage, the enemy team has to have a reason to attack you over someone else.

What that reason is varies Champion to Champion, but a tank needs some reason they are a threat, or they simply get ignored, and can't tank anything. Sometimes that threat is spammable CC. Sometimes it's being a ridiculous peel for the Marksman. Sometimes it's simply that they have easy ways of diving onto the squishies and presenting a danger to them that way. It varies a lot, but a tank needs a reason to be hit, or he can't actually tank anything.

You are a silly goose.

This isn't WoW. Tanks can't pull aggro. So they have to have some actual reason to be a threat to the enemy team.

Some Tanks do it with CC for days (Leona or Alistar)

Some Tanks do it with significant damage over time (Amumu)

Some Tanks do it by shredding enemy defenses and making their team mates more dangerous (Sion and Rammus)

Some Tanks do it by putting out powerful auras that buff their buddies (Taric)

Some Tanks do it by just hurting a whole hell of a lot (Tank Jman or Tank Vi)

There's no such thing as a 'Bruiser'. There are only Fighters who like to build more or fewer defensive items.

but riot wants them to actualy be able to do that and whoever cant do it will get reworked in future

bruisers/ fighters are guys who mix offense and defense tanks are guys who get only defense and soak the damages thats how riot wants it to be and they said they wioll slowly make it so

Kindle + Glacial Shroud + Spectral Cowl + Combine = Force of Nature

Solid tanking stats all around, +20% CDR, has mana to make resourceless folks sad, glorious movespeed.

It would basically be Trinity Force for Tanks.

Oh, but I forgot. Tanks don't get cool things.

Sorry.

better made from Ruby Crystal or Giant Belt than Kindlegem...

because that CDR though... CDR from Glacial Shroud should be enough...

except Frozen Heart... better all tank item CDR should stay at 10%...

I agree. Since the removal of FoN there's a big whole in tank itemization.

Phage 1325g 200 health 20 AD

2x Ruby Crystal 400g 150 health

Chain Vest 750g 40 armor

+525g

Rhino's Force 3400g

Health +550 Armor +45 AD + 20 Movementspeed +15% Unique passive: Upon walking Rhino's Force gains stacks. On 100 stacks the next activation of an ability increases your movementspeed by 50% for 1.5 seconds. (CD 60s). Taking damage from an enemy champion reduces the cooldown by 1s.

It´s called FoN...and it´s still heavily missed.

I think it'd be interesting to make a defense version of Trinity Force would be pretty cool. Health, Mana, Health regen, Mana regen, Tenacity, CDR, and move speed. Cowl and Glacial Shroud would be two great items for it. The third would ideally would have mana and health regen, but I don't know if there exists a second tier item with those stats.

What's a tank?

Done251 votes

Actually, I would argue that a tank is just a melee range mage that deals lots of AoE damage over time.

Aluminum tears, tantrum, and curse. Singed poison. Rammus Powerball and Tremors Nautilus Wrath, Riptide, and Depthcharge. Maokai Sapling Toss, that ground smash move, and his freaking giant AoE explosion ultimate.

I'd happily list more but heading to work. :(

Righteous Glory can fit the role perfectly IMO.
