Is League is trying too hard to appeal to kids and not its core RTS fanbase?
League used to be a fun game about strategy. I think the decline of League could me traced back to the release of Overwatch and that game's popularity (since Blizzard is one of Riot's main competitors and where a lot of the employees originally came from). The game changed its focus from a strategic slow-paced MOBA where pentakills were a rear occurance, to the game it is today with every character having the ability to one shot another champion in one ability rotation.
Now I ask myself... is it me? I will be 30 this month, am I too old to play this game now? Am I too old to enjoy it because Riot want to cater to a new generation of "Instant Power Now" kids and the game has radically increased in pace. The same is currently happening with the Card Game Yu-Gi-Oh, older players are feeling displaced by the much faster and combo based the game has become and a part of the community, a much older and more mature part has been lost.
Is there are place for people like me now? An older generation of gamers that feel displaced because the game we once loved is being changed before our eyes into a much faster and less strategic experience?
Am I the only person who is feeling this way at the moment?
