AD assassins can't pull ahead and snowball early anymore because of this stat. Your laning opponent has to be some kind of idiot if they die to you while you're doing the paper damage these items provide.

That's the point, but Lethality also scales with enemy level, making it much less difficult to catch up if behind.

Riot Doesn't want Assassins to rely on snowballing. They want them to be more flexible than that.

New assassins still have to rely on snowballing, it's just that they can't properly do it anymore.

A full rotation from an even a slightly behind rengar or talon is laughable right now.

leathality may not be good but the effects on the leathality items specifically duskblade are great 50+(200% of total lethality) on next auto after not being seen is really good for snowballing (especially if you make use of the out of combat movespeed on all the lethality items to hit other lanes)
