Is it just me, or does plat suck now?

I was plat last year for the first time, and it was a lot of work to get there. When I did finally hit plat, it was the most fairly balanced LoL I've ever played. Games were very evenly matched, and I was most definitely playing at my correct level (no movement up or down the ladder at all). After getting back into plat this season, I cannot say the same. Every game is a 100% stomp, and the winner seems to be decided simply based on which team has fewer trash players. And by trash, I don't just mean had a bad game, or got countered hard, or even camped by the premade jungler. I mean posting a 1/10/1 kda as Irelia after a 25 minute game. I can honestly say that since hitting play I have yet to have 1 solidly played game. I either win big or lose big. Is this just my shit luck, or are others noticing this, as well?

Its not just you. Plat is full of (dynamic) boosted players...the team who has less of those on his team wins usually. Also the queue times are ridiculous...I am Plat II on EUW, a server with a lot more players than NA yet I still have to wait 10-15 mins in queue if I wanna play my main roles (jungle/top).

I don't have much issue with queue times (though admittedly I've been queueing Jungle/Support lately so that could be why).

And yet plat has almost same percentage of playerbase aa previous season. If it was "full of dynamic boosted people" dont u think numbers would be higher?

Ok, let me just explain to you what literally just happened: we won a game. Every lane won. I was supporting, and we crushed our lane. Our kat was fed and was roaming, and she helped top win. Our jungler was meh, but still doing fine. So basically, gg in 20. Then, for literally 15 straight minutes, our kat and kled (top lane) went full rambo 1v5 until we fell so far behind, victory was impossible. At this point, our adc rage quit just in case there was any chance of a comeback. This has NEVER happened to me before, not at this magnitude, and not even when I was in silver at the start of last season. I have played well over 5000 games in my 5 years in this game, and never have I seen such an overt lack of coordination and stupidity. Not even in low elo/normals. And before you say "throws happen" or some shit like that, this was not just a throw. There was literally no knowledge on our team. The fed kat simply did not know how to play. She literally could not teamfight. Same for the kled. There was no focus, no waiting for tanks to engage, nothing. Absolutely 0 game sense, and it this level, that's not acceptable. Something is wrong, and by denying it, you are only causing more of an issue.

Furthermore, plat might have the same percentage, but people at this level have certainly quit the game because of this shit, so figure that into your calculations.

"now" lololol plats always been a mess, from my point of view at least <,<

Get out. Plats represent the top 5-10% of the game, and if your only purpose in life is to make people feel bad about their achievements then you need to get out of my sight. Please delete your post, while you're at it.

I see no other way of interpreting this...if this is not what you mean, then I apologize, but it certainly comes across as though you are simply insulting plat players in general.

Fine, but you must admit that the way you phrased your statement is easily interpreted as inflammatory (also seeing as how rank is not listed in your profile and I'm rather lazy atm, I have no way of knowing your rank).

I got to plat 3-2 this season one of them i didnt care to remember , then it decayed to G1 , because i just stopped playing ranked all together , it got boring

" Is it me or does plat suck now "

"Plats always been a mess"

XD i dont see any difference between your statement and mine though , they pretty much both sum up the same thing

This problem is in Silver too. I dont think its boosters so much as it is dynamic queue. I constantly run into completely uneven matches where one side is a laughable joke compared to the other. I'm not denying there are boosted players as I run into Gold Vs that play like Bronze Vs. When I investigate why a person on my team that should be in Silver II played like they just picked up the game yesterday.

Even my game's wins and losses are a tell tale of that as my LP gains and losses are all over the place and rarely equal. I've had to make a checklist in post game of good reasons to dodge a game that will most likely lose... like an adc/jungle with very low mmr... or a Nid jungler, a vayne adc, a Riven top... Things in high elo that would be beastly but in Silver its like shooting a target blindfold, some hit, but most miss by a mile.

Keep in mind though, that the elo system starts everyone off at 1250ish, meaning that you might be getting people that really did just pick up the game yesterday (or at least hit level 30 yesterday). And when I say "boosters" I mean people who abuse DQ to get ranks that they clearly do not deserve.

Oh you just have to look at their match history to see the same champ played over and over with high kda in ranked then suddenly random champs/modes with poor kda to know they are boosted. [zombie-brand-clap]

Oh ofc, but this is not really the boosting I'm talking about. Obviously that is an issue, but it's always been an issue and Riot cannot stop it short of handing out IP bans to suspected boosters/boostees (which they do in only the most extreme cases). I'm talking about the completely legal (and in fact riot-supported) DQ boosting. People hop into premades and proceed to stomp people at/around their elo due solely to their superior teamwork and coordination. What's worse, is that some of these people will find a higher level player to hop on a smurf account at their rank. Completely legal within the confines of Riot's rules, and in fact, encouraged (Riot seems to like when when people queue in a large group), and it completely destroys all that remains of ranked integrity in this game.

Thats why it is harder to climb in this season you have people at the gold level playing in plat

Laning farming and decision are atrocious

What is even worst when you have a diamond player who got boosted to diamond and play to decay

Having half of the jungle cs and dying and plays once a month to avoid decay

The Easiest way to carry games is to play champions that don't necesasary require team play to win game like kog

Just keep on flanking them over and over again and have superior positioning

Plat is fucking terrible. Seriously. It's even worse when you get to P1 or G1 and you encounter the Division 5 0 LP boosted wheelchair monkeys. A lot of plat players honestly got there through mechanics alone. Some are the worse decision makers I've ever seen in my entire time of playing ranked. I had more intense games in high Gold than I do in high plat, it's fucking ridiculous.

Plat 5 is an absolute clown fiesta so far.

There is a shocking amount of players here that are legitimately boosted. I guess that's what happens when you stick solos like me and dynamic queue boosted apes on the same ladder.

It's honestly so bad that I can tell whether my lane opponent has dynamic or not just by watching them play. We've reached the point where the skill disparity between solos and dynamic queue players is so high on average you can literally tell without looking at their profile whether they have dyn/team pref or solo.

The fact that the only real competition is now found in Diamond+ (and in reality only high Diamond+) should be telling Riot just how bad DQ is, but instead they continue to make excuses for it...
