Riot Meddler Says Karma's Problem is Building AP. He's Really Wrong
Karma has:
-
No gameplay direction and Riot Game Developers seem to support the identity of her being a mage, top laner, and support. Karma is a weird mesh of 3 gameplay identities but she really doesn't do anything interesting and succeed in these roles compared to other champions.
-
The champion is just not unique. Everything that was unique, iconic, fun and interesting on Karma was removed for a generic kit that has broken Mantra abilities, divided a fanbase as to who she is, and can be replicated by item actives and is on other champion kits. Notice the problems seem to be the Mantra abilities themselves and Riot knows this.
-
Front loaded damage ability, Q - Mantra Q, that has to be overbuffed because it's her only form of damage. The ability itself does way too much damage and it has to be that way because it's her only form of damage. Is it healthy for Karma to basically chunk the entire health of a enemy champion? No it isn't but Riot Game Developers seem to think the only counterplay to this is to stand behind minions.
-
Riot refuses to acknowledge Karma as a mage, but lists her as a mage and front loads one damage ability with insane damage. Karma transition to a very lackluster damage dealer early game to nothing but a shield bot late game, no matter what lane she goes in. Let's also talk about the Mantra W heal that no one likes and is abused.

Karma is in fact a game health issue. This champion has to have something in her kit overbuffed and broken to be played in worlds and recogniczed as a champion, but be barely noticed and recognized as a champion when she is constantly sitting at a 45% or less winrate champion. Karma is in fact probably the most number buffed and then nerfed champion in League of Legends. Riot has nerfed and buffed her damage, cc, slightly tweaked basic abilities that accomplished nothing, and made certain Mantra stronger than others. This is a champion that has a long history of having game health problems and Riot knows this.

Riot knows what Karma's problems are and what the community is asking for. There have been nothing but excuses for the past 7 years and band aid fixes that last a month or two until the Karma mains whine again that she has problems. Riot is not addressing these problems and knows this, have made explicit comments about this, and even made abilities, art direction changes and gameplay directions with Karma's old self on new champions. Riot is basically admitting there is a problem but ignoring it because they either don't care or hate the champion and her mains. I don't know how else to describe the weird interaction and treatment Riot has given this champion and her mains for the past 7 years. Riot is more about making excuses for their work ethic in regards to Karma than solving her problems.
This is no longer about old and new Karma mains or top, mid and support Karma mains. This is about a group of Developers who are in charge and responsible for making champions more fun and unique who are clearly not doing that in regards to this champion. The VGU didn't improve Karma's art because it was rushed and the model was never completed. The VGU divided the Karma community and didn't give her a direction. GIVE A DIRECTION TO KARMA FINALLY, FIX HER ART PROBLEMS, AND LISTEN TO THE MAINS. I don't care anymore about shield bomb, the fans coming back and arguments between the Karma community. The arguments I want to make are towards this Development team that seem to think Karma building AP is a problem when she is listed as a mage by them, cannot function well as a mage late game, cannot push as well as other mages, and is the most boring mage. Riot lists Karma as a mage but they nerf and talk about the very thing that makes a mage . . . a mage.

The Developer Scarizard 7 years ago talked about the direction Karma was supposed to be taken in. Karma is supposed to be able to hold her own as a mage or support. Karma was supposed to be building AP to be a successful solo laner and support. They stated Karma was more fun and played more in a solo lane atmosphere. If these Developers know this then why are they saying that building AP on Karma is a problem and removing everything that would allow her to be as successful and fun as a mage?
It's time for the Developer to step up and do something.
