I'm really surprised Riot won't address the new player experience for preseason whatsoever

... Outside of the tutorial of course.

I'm mostly talking about how easy it is to obtain champions, as it stands right now there's absolutely no way a new player coming into this game is ever going to be able to get all of the champions they want without spending money at this point. Some of us veterans that have been here for a long time have years of IP/Essence under our belts that enabled us to eventually get everything we wanted-- especially with the big rune refund that happened this past year.

It would take you around 5000 hours of gameplay to unlock every champion in the game using only essence, and that is assuming the games are roughly 30 minutes each. I feel that the rate that champion prices are lowered at compared to the very small amount of BE you will get on some level ups is much too low, like I'm serious.

I've actually personally tried to get some of my friends into this game that were interested in it but they're immediately turned away by the overwhelming amount of content that they have to put massive timesinks into to afford. I know obviously Riot has to make some money off of people buying champions but I think maybe with the amount of characters that there are in the game now you could make it maybe just a little more forgiving.

Also, not to mention how absolutely atrocious low-level games are with the amount of smurfs and bot accounts but thats a whole extra can of worms.

You obviously are fairly new yourself, otherwise you would have thought about when you get a champion capsule, you are able to upgrade the champion shard to a permanent for less BE. Occasionally you get 2 shards per, and you can multiple champion permanent shards so you can get some champions early on.

Yeah the bots and smurfs can be rough, but after some time it evens out pretty easy.

They also give a ton of champs for free as you level up now. I don't recall exactly how many it is, but by level 5 you've gotten several champs already; they just give you permanent champ shards as you level.

So yeah, it might take them awhile to get all the champs. It took me years, anyway, I don't think it's gotten worse. But on the front end, they should have more to play around with as they learn the game.

I had to buy a lot of champions back then with money to have the required amount of champions to ranked because we had to spend IP to buy runes. So I think its not that different honestly.

You pretty much have no choice but to buy the 450 champs in order to unlock any of the modes locked behind how many champions you own.

There is no way you could ever get anything higher priced than them plus a handful of the 1350s before you run yourself dry, I ended up just spending 50 bucks so I could buy some of the cool but extremely expensive champions I wanted like Varus and Velkoz Had I bought both of these guys with BE I would have been stuck on barely anything in my champ pool forever.

You get around 15k BE by the time you're level 15, then another 5k over the next 15 levels

That's nice for people who only play 450 or 1350 champions, but the only fun ones are 4800 or 6300

So that still means you only get one or two champions lol

Companies need money to operate. How else are they going to support their company when people like me already own all the champs? The noobs can spend some money just like the rest of us did. Or grind them out.

They actually have mission for new players and you basically unlock these 8 champs for free nowdays Ahri Darius Caitlyn MasterYi Lux MissFortune Brand Garen. They also give you 3k BE and the levels below 30 go so fast that you end up making like 250 BE a game and get about 20k BE total by 30.

The only bad thing about the new player experience is Q times and the fact you play with a bunch of toxic players that are leveling new accounts after being banned

I mean there is champ rotation. Id rather they work on replayability and balance. The low build diversity hurts desire to stay/stick it out with the same champ. Wouldnt balance increase their pocketbooks too? Since people just unlock whats OP atm, why even bother with the rest. End of the day a good game should sell itself out of a happy player base.

I never spent money on this game to be honest (I did get RP as a gift on my first account.) And too be honest, I never really needed any. Especially with all the BE boost and champion permanents you get now, add that to the new BE system ad the fact that runes are FREE. New ftp account gathers BE way quicker than old IP.

6 years on my main account and still didnt have all the champs. was missing 7 even after the terrible ip=be and rune change be exchange.
