The Great Contradiction

A principal explained by riot and accepted, a principal held by the community and accepted, and yet both of these things are contradictory.

  1. 'We intentionally made games more snowbally.'
  2. 'Elo hell does not exist.'

I fail to see how the 2 lines contradict to each other tbh.

  • The first line suggests that in this game, having an edge is easily capitalised and mistakes are severely punished.
  • The second line suggests that it's not possible for someone to be stuck in a whatever elo range.

So.... in what way do they run against each other?

The correctness of those sentiments aside and judging based purely on the lines themselves, doesn't that just mean that you could easily both win or lose if you either successfully or has failed in managing the snowball, which effectively means elo hell does not exist because virtually anyone can do it as long as they know how to snowball and stay away from being snowballed? This means the 2 sentences are complementary and not contradictory?

I don't get it.
