enemy team is up and rush baron and then basically make up for everything they've fucked up and are also stronger than us despite losing a teamfight and have enhanced minions
what is the counterplay to this? Why is baron so strong?
Just an FYI. Backing doesn't take as long as the death timers are. So there is no reason they should be beating you to the Baron unless it took you 30 seconds to take the inhib. If you're that low with no teammates, you have to make the call that just leaving an inhib open is better than losing baron. Plenty of counterplay...it's just that the counterplay is more intellectual than "omg im going to smash my face on keyboard and make #LC$BiGPLAY$"
Don't let them have a free Baron?
Because baron is an objective that needs constant looking after. you get push power with better minions. Which makes you fight the stronger baron empowered team. There is only 1 counter and it's to kill the other team. Baron is strong because it helps end the game and not prolong it

how close is this fight? Is it like 5v5 and your team survives with 2-3 people? Did you Ace them? Who did you kill?
Why are you not using this time (the time they are dead) to go ward baron? You should also take scuttle if you can safely.
If they can come back from being dead, go straight to Baron, take it for free and pressure your lanes then you are not winning this game, you merely got lucky with one teamfights.
If your teammates are dying that late after a "won" teamfight, then the mistake is on them for dying. If they died because they are low from the teamfight, then they should have backed off. If they are dying so late after the teamfight that they are not alive to contest Baron, there is your issue right there.
Why didnt you just end the game? You would need like 15 seconds to take the last two turrets and Nexus
