Please let us remake if the jungler doesn't have smite
I just lost my series because I had a zac with no smite and he was level 2 at 9 minutes

Why can't smite automatically be selected at the start of the champion select if someone has the jungle role? They can change it if they want to trade.
Or the guy they trade with automatically get smite as well? There is NEVER a reason for a jg to NOT have smite.
Id rather just have one of the junglers summoner spells be hardlocked to smite. Cut out the middle man. There were some points in league history where you could jungle without smite but with the inclusion of the jungle items and the reduced exp without them they clearly never want that to happen again. If the jungler HAS to take smite why give them the option to not take it?
If this happened people would troll.
Step 1) Convince your jungler to give you his role.
Step 2) Get rid of your smite at the last second.
Step 3) /remake and he gets punished for no reason.
What if someone traded roles with the Jungler and then forgot smite? Would the person with the initial "Jungle Role" still get the blame?

Good point. How about remake is possible if no one has smite?
But remember, it just says that remake is possible. That means you still have to vote on it (wonder how that'd vote would go), and people who aren't trolling wouldn't take the remake if it was simply a swap.
Well those who are trolling could use it, and someone has to get the blame otherwise it could simply be abused as a free dodge. The system would need a way to detect who was given the jungle role, so someone doesnt get unfairly punished. Perhabs the jungler should have a button or something similar in order to actually assign another player jungle, if they accept it.
There doesn't need to be a penalty system for forgetting smite. Failing to swap smite and runes/masteries before the game even starts is a game flaw. In fact, summoner spells should be interchangeable in game for everyone all the time if you ask me.
/remake is a good idea until they figure this out. Nobody has to dodge because of their crappy system; nobody has to drag out a 20min loss because of their crappy system.
Forgetting smite is not a "game flaw" it's a player flaw. That's like me saying that forgetting my wallet when I go to the bank means the bank is shitty. Also, on the inter-changable summoners thing... lul no.
I'd agree, except after 5 dodges in a row and it has failed to remember that you set smite those 5 times in a row, you may end up forgetting that 6th time. If you are assigned the jungle roll by any means, it should instantly put smite on your bar as your first summoner, and your second will be whatever is left over from the previous champion select(Most likely flash). Trades or anything else can be manually handled, but they are significantly rare. Multiple dodges in a row making you loose track of if the client is properly updating your selections not so much.

Seriously, they need to improve how summoner spells, runes, and masteries are remembered. Way too many time I've forgotten smite (in normals thank god) or gotten the wrong runes/masteries after a series of dodges, getting secondary role, etc.) because it is inconsistent when each one is remember.

Maybe being able to change summoner up to 1:30 in game as long as you haven't taken or dealt any damage?
See this makes more sense, the other suggestion is simply ridiculous lol...

Yeah.
That would remove a lot of strategy and prediction.
You took ignite and they took barrier? Switch to ghost/tp and counter their counter

Simple enough: A: Announce any summoner changes to both sides, additionally, you can only change said summoners once before you hit "confirm." As such, if you take the incentive to counter their counter, it is up to them if they want to counter your counter and as such it is fair. Changes to smite cannot really be countered, but changing your summs to counter their counter can easily be countered again. The advantage is retained, the free loss is not.
Or you could simply not reveal enemy team summoners until either 1:30 or until you see them.
Well then the jungler will have the power to give his entire team a free dodge every single game, that would easily be abuseable. Also do you really think summoners should be interchangeable DURING the game, all the time!??? Why on earth should that be a thing? Everyone could just pick exactly what they want at any given time. Let me just 5 man tp to baron with 5 smites for a 20 min cheese, and if we get spottet lets get flash and ghost to run away. ._.
Well what I mean is you'd change them at the fountain. They'd obviously have to start with a cooldown (3mins or whatever.)
Not just randomly swap all spells all the time. Sorry, I wasn't very clear about that.
Thank god, i thought you had gone mad :p

That would still be an incredibly terrible idea tbh. You'd have laners, especially top laners, starting TP/flash for the safe pick, then whoever won lane would switch to ignite (after burning their TP on a bot gank or dragon) and snowball harder with the advantage of having ignite.
i think riot should allow people to change their summoner spells and mastery pages when the game starts (like a 2 minute window to change your stuff) in case someone forgets to change on accident they can do it in game
[deleted]
you still load into the game like normal but you can use that two minute window to change your stuff as long as you dont use your summoner spells or get any kills if you do then you wont be able to do it
What if you could change your summoner spells until you first entered combat? That would give until camps spawned to change summoner spells at the latest.
Then everyone would change summoners to counter other people's summoners, like barrier into ignite
In which case I bring ignite to fake you into bringing barrier then change to exhaust or perhaps ghost to roam and gank other lanes instead.
Overall I don't think it would be a huge issue since there are mind games at play and you can only know if they change them if you see them. Plus if you hit them or they hit you both of you get locked out of changing.
Okay, one - if you didn't take smite, that's on you. Not sure why the game should fix your mistakes for ya. What's going to be next? Remake if you took wrong masteries?
Two - it would make for a perfect abuse case: "Let's go double top and if we can't snowball then we remake".
Three - if your jungler forgot smite and cannot function without it (so, most junglers), why did he go jungle instead of just going top as a support? I've done something similar several times in ranked (back in S4 and S5) and it's alright-ish (not exactly great, but way better than have a "jungler" that's unable to even do a clear).
You should be able to officially swap roles in the lobby just like you can do with champions. And the jungler should always have smite as a forced summoner spell.
Too easily abused. Team up with friends, see a comp that looks badly for you, convince your jungler friend to "Forget" Smite, so you can remake.
LOL was he afk for part of the game?

No, he just walked around and did nothing and died to a camp once
No, he just walked around and did nothing and died to a camp once
Maybe that was the problem, not smite
That was definitely the problem. I've seen smiteless junglers win.
Buuut, that doesn't mean the idea doesn't have merit.
As someone who's forgotten Smite before, it'd be nice if I didn't have to open Task Manager to disconnect my game before it loads. I'll take the lp loss.
If your jungler is level 2 at 9 mins, even without smite then there must be a deeper problem. Having no smite is a disadvantage early game but if your team plays it correctly then you catch up and win. I have won and lost to countless games with a no-smite jungler. The worst thing you can do is flame him/her for forgetting or feed your lane then blame them. Just offer what support you can and try to win.
As a jungler main I think i have forgotten smite 1 time this season, it was my bad so i dc'd at start of game without buying or leaving fountain, so team could remake. I took the hit
that said if a jungler forgets smite, Unless they were completely afk in lobby there were 4 teammembers that could have pointed it out
Some junglers might not want to take the loss and Away queue debuff, In cases like these your zac would be better off going duo top
How about we do like I do, and politly ask the fool that forgot smite to Alt+F4 so we can remake, and if they dont, report them for trolling.
Honestly Im tired of having to wipe peoples asses for them cause they cant remember to do it themselves and always reminding the lobby to check summoners spells, and masteries/runes.
Have I forgotton the correct rune set, masteries before? Yeah I have. Do I grief my team with a smitless jungle in hopes they carry me? No, I have a checklist system that involves "I just selected my champ, now Il pick summoners spells, runes, masteries, now Im done."
Getting them wrong usually involves like 5+ lobbies from dodges where I eventually end up auto-filled, and even then only rarely slip up if I changed champs to not play into a counter.
This is an old issue, and it comes down to asking people to take their face out of their phone or stop alt-tabbing to look at reddit while theyre in a lobby and pay just the smallest amount of attention.
You realize that people could abuse this and purposely not take smite to remake games without having to dodge, right? Like if they didn't like their teams draft or didn't like their teammates but didn't want to be penalized for dodging.
It burns me up to no end that Riot won't come up with a solution for this OBVIOUS ****ING problem. At this point, I don't know why Smite is tied to Machete anyway.
It was done so that they could allow the jungle camps to give more EXP to the jungler than to anyone else.
THIS was done so that the jungler could get level 2 off of his first camp, but the laners couldn't abuse it by doing the camp level 1, getting level 2, and going to lane.
Rough translation.. every time the players come up with a new/viable/fun way to play this old ass game... Riot gets pissed and says 'NO" you have to p,lay this game the way our silver Elo asses want you to.
It wasn't "new" or "fun"
Camp starts were nothing new for botlane, but the ability to not lane at level 1 completely nullified certain strategies, resulting in a less diverse botlane.
I'd kinda prefer if riot would just remove the necessity of the summoner spell.
next time that happens tell the moron to quit so you can remake.
it's his fault for not taking smite, it;s your teams fault for not telling him to suck it up and take a 5 minute leaver buster penalty for leaving and letting everyone remake.
obviously you couldnt quit cuz promos, but everyone done fucked up for not forcing the remake when you got a jg with no smite.

wait. say the game loaded. i realized i forgot smite and tried to force a remake my disconnecting and turning off my laptop. would the remake option appear for my team ??
yes. as long as there isn't a team mate connected to the game at the 3 minute mark regardless of when or if they even loaded into the game, the remake option is still presented to the team.
the function is simply put in place to identify if all 5 members are connected. AFK in fountain doesnt count, but closing the game at the 2 minute mark does. once it hits 3 minutes, if all 5 arent in the remake option goes out, and the disconnect/leaver gets a dodge penalty.
you also dont even need to close the laptop. just make sure the game is completely closed out, hang out for atleast 5-7 minutes to make sure the team managed to remake, then you can open league again.
I would abuse the crap out of that if they changed it. Every time champ select showed a losing lane for my team I would remake.

Ah but it seems that the original poster is referring to a situation triggered by no one on the team having smite....
I know. If you feel like you have bad matchups after champions have been selected (i.e. someone is facing a hard counter), just tell your jungler not to take smite before you being and everyone remakes.
What a troll, In my placements I just had to take the bullet and go afk for the remake because the stupid guy without smite refused to alt + f4. "As if I go afk, I'll lose anyway xD"... wow.
