I feel your pain when you say the game is dying but it's just not true

Boards/reddit make up such a small portion of the community. I think almost no matter what they do to this game it's going to remain popular for a long, long time. I've seen people say that "the game will die soon" since season 4. Old veteran players that find the game stale will eventually funnel out and be replaced by new players that don't think it's stale since they've only just started playing.

I think Riot knows this too which is why they may not even listen to boards feedback about their ranked plans.

Sucks but I think that's the reality.

Everything dies, you try to deny this you are just as delusional as the boards and Reddit. League's too popular to die over a year or two though. Hell, look at Runescape it's still around. The question is how far will Riot alienate their fanbase like Jagex did with Runescape.

The game is focused too heavily on pro play, which maybe 2% of the player base even gives 2 fuks about. Lcs is a boring 30 min farm fest with 1 fight then game ends. Balancing around that makes the game shitty for all the non pro players that get there favorite champs nerfed into the ground.

Not to mention the insane ban rate that riot does since doing away with the tribunal. Seems pretty stupid that premade teams get to decide who gets banned, since it goes off total reports and not actually what you did or said. I don't even play anymore because i got banned for calling someone an idiot...nearly everyone i knew in real life that played is now banned over something very minor that you see every game. Now no1 i know plays anymore because i guess they want this game to be for little kids. What a joke, i only HOPE this game dies and a better company takes over the scene. riot sucks so bad.

It's dying, it doesn't matter how slow or long it will take, could be a decade, but this game is going downhill. It simple doesn't cater to the old players/dedicated players, and it makes it hard for people to want to invest time and money in this game when the people who spent years of their lives getting good at this game feel like it's turning into a piece of shit

but it's just not true

  • Google trends show otherwise
  • Social media engagement says otherwise
  • Total number of unique posts on the Boards/Reddit say otherwise, but most importantly
  • The total number of players says otherwise... There are just over 1.2 million accounts on the NA ranked ladder in season 8, this is lower than the 1.4 million from season 7, the 1.9 million in season 6, the over 3 million in season 5. Get the idea?
