How long does it take for MMR to balance
I'm gaining 16 LP on wins and losing 22 on losses and when the loss is due to a troll my security deposit evaporates. How long is the run-around time?

Until your win loss ratio is at a steady 50% for an extended period of time. Could be 500-600 games tbh
Unless it's changed, it usually takes around 150-200 games to get to your true mmr. Could be more, could be less.

This is true when playing on a new account, he is just trying to get his current account, which has a bit over 40p games, to have the rank and mmr match so that his LP gains and losses balance. At thus point he is at his true rank, he just wants to know how much progress he needs mame in order to start having good forward momentum.
It has nothing to do with win rates or 100s of games. It is 100% based on what your rank badge is in comparison to your MMR. In the game yoy are currently in, 50% are bronze 5, 40% are your rank, then a random b2 who has a 30% win rate with 30 more losses than wins in his first season, so probably another bronze 5 as far as mmr goes. This means 60% are a lower rank than your badge.
In your last 16 games you are 10-6, so in your last 16 you only moved up 4 games worth of mmr. It is about 4 to 6 wins in a row to gain enough mmr for a division. If you keep making 4 wins over losses every 16 games you play then another 16 games and your mmr will balance out. If in your next 16 games you go 6-10 then it will undo the progress from your last 18 and then you'd need 8 to 12 wins in a row.
If you won 4 to 6 from where you arr at right now you'd see your LP gains and losses balance out. The only situation which would cause it to be a lot of games... like 20 in a row tops... would be if you were in division 5 and had like 3 divisions worth of deficit.
If by "Balance" you mean for your mmr to be proportional to your visible rank, it pretty much stays balanced. it never strays far unless you are bronze 5, or at least at the border between one division and another. Probably not long ago you were bronze 5 and your mmr got lower than b5. It's not going to take 100+ games . these people don't know what they're talking about. give it a dozen more games and it should be pretty close. keep in mind other factors affect how many points you get for wins and losses, like the mmr of the opposing team.
MMR is more like a swing that goes around your actual skill but never really stops right at it for any length of time.
