What if hitting Diamond 1 or higher gave some sort of bonus reward?

Like, what if hitting Master Tier gave you the opportunity to unlock a previous Victorious skin that you didn't get for whatever reason. Or what if they got a mystery skin or some small amount of RP.

Just a nice little reward for hitting high ELO. It'd just be nice to have another goal to go for. After you hit gold and get the victorious skin, there's not really much more to go for other than getting a boarder.

Well, another reason to try to get an high tier is to make your way into the competitive environment. That's one of the reasons why I am trying.

Definitely no on the Victorious skin. The entire point of it is to say "I played during that Season, and I did pretty well." Giving it retroactively is entirely against the point. You may as well release Championship Riven.
