Elo Hell

Woook3r··1 votes·835 views

Go look at my last game and tell me it doesn't exist. My "support brand" fed cait 3 kills in lane, but I survived until cashing in my passive for 530 gold with decent farm under the conditions. Teemo jungler sucked dick. Elise afk for 30 min. Vi and malzahar are on the enemy team. But, I keep us in the game with my godlike draven for 40 fucking minutes until elise comes back.

Everything goes great for a while....then they all decide to group at red while the only vision we have (miinons) tells us they are right around the corner. I ping to run. Every one fucking stays. Everyone fucking dies. Vi ults me. I die. Game. Elo Hell.

I just want to be in the middle of gold. So that I can have fun, but still play against people who aren't going to feed 10 kills in 10 minutes.

PDE5 Inhibitors1 votes

Chances are if you're bronze and put into middle gold, you will be the one feeding 10 kills in 10 mins xD

Its the same thing in mid gold man. 2 of my accounts are there. It doesnt change til you get to diamond. The problem is, everyone plays ONE way. They go balls to the wall aggressive and 50% of the time it works out and the other 50% it doesnt. This is why ppl either feed or carry every game. No one adjusts their playstyle to what the game calls for. They play retardedly aggressive and end up feeding cuz its the only way the majority of ppl know how to play this game...instead of using their brain and making smart decisions. Top laner goes 0/6 in laning phase??? Its cuz he doesnt know how to play from behind and be passive in lane after getting killed the very first time. He keeps playing like HE has the lead when hes extremely behind, which is how ppl feed all the time....they dont know how to play smart. One thing diamond + players can tell you is that you should RARELY EVER die to your lane opponent unless you make a huge mistake or get ganked. People below that threshold dont understand this concept

ELO Hell is whatever rank you belong to.

If you should be in Plat, then Plat is ELO Hell.

If you should be in Bronze, then Bronze is ELO Hell.

Tell me why my team continued to feed while I was 24/3 as draven and we lost the game.

Because you weren't capable of converting your lead into a win against Bronze opponents.

Because you weren't capable of converting your massive lead into a win against Bronze opponents.

It was because after winning a fight, I would take an objective, clear a wave and back. My teammates would derp off, leave the objective alone and then die at the enemy blue buff. So. After winning every fight, soon enough my entire team would die and I would be at the fountain as the only member of my team alive. The enemy was able to push all of our lanes during this time and group under our inhibitor tower. As a draven against vi and malzahar. I had to watch this happen until they killed our tower multiple times.

After a certain instance of this happening, my team respawned and then we killed their team. I pushed an objective. I backed. My team overstayed. The enemy team pushed. We lost two inhibitors. I was the only one alive for an entire minute and I spent most of it clearing super minions. When my teammates respawned they ran past the superminions to do god knows what. Teemo died at the enemy blue buff while I spammed danger pings at him. The others died one by one in various places. I continued killing supers. Enemy team takes baron. I get a quadrakill. After getting all of our inhibitors back up, my entire team decides to group at red buff. I tell them to leave. They don't. They get aced. Vi ults me. I die. Game.

Find the part where I fucked up please.

The part where you messed up is not owning a mercurial scimitar and having a phantom dancer instead. There are always things that you can do, and in that situation the glaring problem is your build. You needed a was for vi ult and whatever other cc they have on their team. Bronze 2 players are bad enough for a good player to 1v5, and you're fed draven in this situation. The higher elo you go there is more reliance on your team, but when you're below diamond there is always solo carry potential.

U cant qss a vi ult. The part where you messed up is where you assume that a person can always carry 4 idiots.

Restless Slumber1 votes

LOL, yes you can. You just need to wait till she grabs you. And it is possible for a person to carry 4 idiots. I Lost a ranked game yesterday because of a scripted hard carrying the other team. The rest of his team were garbage and didn't deserve the win. But you have to remember that I'm at Gold 3-2 mmr. At bronze, anyone in silver 3+ should be able to solo carry and if they can't, then they deserve bronze.

so ur saying I need to script to carry. ok

DeathBurst2 votes

No, Elo Hell is 2 divisions under where you belong: when you can't solo carry anymore, but you're still better than most other players and can see their obvious mistakes.

Restless Slumber1 votes

Not true at all. I'm gold right now and carried myself out of silver. If what you're saying is true then the logic would be that I should be higher elo. That may be true, but even at gold I can solo carry games. ELO hell is only when you're dealing with good opponents and your team is bad. If the other team isn't good and yours isn't, then you aren't in elo hell.

I just uninstalled, the community, the game, the balancing, the matchmaking, it is all horrible. I would rather go fight strangers in the street 5v5 with a team of paraplegics then play one more match of this game.

I still just play casuals and I got tired of Nami on top while I was trying to Shaco. I will hate ranked.

I used to think like you but eventually I realized that while I might be better than my teammates I'm still a crappy player who has a lot to improve on. As soon as I did that I was able to carry myself out of bronze because I stopped blaming others and focused on what I could improve on.

Yeah, there's going to be those games where you hard carry but your team is just to derpy. That happens to everyone at every elo and yet people are still able to climb.

There's also going to be games where you play like crap and still get carried to the win. For example, a couple days you got carried hard when you played Draven. You went 1/4/6 and was 4th place in damage dealt to champions on your team. You did a whopping 800 damage more than the Leona support on the opposing team and yet you still won. You absolutely didn't deserve to win with your performance but your team carried you for the win. Funny I don't see you complaining about that.

What really determines if you will rise in ranked is what you do with the games that fall between the extremes. Until you figure out how to carry those games you'll never get out of bronze.

Was that the game where I had a shaco support or a jinx support? Yea i was completely tilted.

Randomonium1 votes

No, looked like a Wukong support and a Trundle jungle. The only person who did less damage than you was the Trundle. Your Gnar, Talon and Wukong carried hard.

And now you are silver 5. wow. what a journey.

I got to Silver 5 from Bronze 4 with a 70% win rate and an average KDA of 5. Unfortunately I have a full time job and I'm working on my second master's degree so I'm limited to only a few games a day. Once the new season starts I'll be back to climbing and you'll still be in bronze.

I am in a masters degree too. Why are you getting another master's? Honest question. Lets forget the beef for a second. Sometimes I wonder if my masters will be worth it. Why a second masters?

Randomonium1 votes

I got my first master's degree in Mechanical Engineering. Now I'm using my GI Bill to get a second master's in Engineering Management so I can expand my career to middle and upper management positions at engineering companies. I probably wouldn't have done it if it wasn't covered by the GI bill because master's degrees are so expensive and the pay raise for having a second master's degree, while nice, is not enough to offset the investment in my opinion. I always look at education as an investment and if the pay raise isn't enough to pay back the loans in rapid fashion its usually not worth it.

ok thanks. I appreciate it.

Now back to what I was saying. I was in teambuilder today learning leblanc right? I get the positive matchmaking handicap bc unfamiliar champ in unfamiliar role or so it says. Pairs me against a gold 5 fiddlesticks and a multiple silvers and I had a completely bronze team. Felt like every other game I played except slightly MORE in my favor. Like most games feel like my team feeds harder..

Randomonium1 votes

Yeah, normals don't share the same MMR as ranked so its entirely possible for that to happen if your bronzies have a ton of normal games and the gold/silvers don't have many. Who knows, maybe they were trying out new champions too so it adjusted matchmaking down for them and all your bronze teammates were playing champs they were familiar with. The point is some games you're not going to win no matter what you do and some games you'll win even if you play like crap. What matters is what you do with games that don't fall in those extremes.

Elo Hell doesn't exist. A player's skill ceiling does exhist.

If a player who's better at the game than you could take your place, and win the game with all the same players minus you, plus the better player, then it couldn't possibly exhist. The variable is you.

League is an easy game to pick up and play, but very difficult to master. It feels like Elo Hell, because you have reached, or have nearly reached your skill ceiling. Trying to surpass your current level of skill is supposed to be difficult.

It's gonna take a lot of hard work and dedication. Don't expect instant gratification. The people at the top of the ladder are there because they played their butts off. We all have to deal with the same roadblocks and challenges, they are not exclusive to you.

All you can do is look to actively improve each and every game. Even if you don't win, try to learn something from your failures. You're Bronze. You're going to make tons of mistakes, and you can't recognize them as mistakes because everyone in your level of play all make the same mistakes as you.

OK. Well i do have to deal with the frequent jinx and wukong supports which do not provide any protection or teamwork. You say that wukonng carried hard, but obviously he didnt do his job as support if he brought ignite instead of exhaust, had a negative kda, AND HIS ADC DIED A LOT. That is not a support carry, joker. Also, there are only 4 games in my chat history where i did not have a good enough kda and only 6 where my kda was not completely fantastic kda despite the fact that I die 2 or 3 several deaths each game because I am deperatly trying to avoid a disaster because my team just has to try baron or something stupid like that..

You arent taking an honest look. Try spectating me. Dont just say oh you deserve it. How many times have people gifted you a skin because you are carrying them so hard.
