Is anyone else disappointed that picked two BS champs for this event?

RookPusher··9 votes·400 views

And by BS I mean "Oh cool, the same old crap we always get."

It might be me, because doing the usual, approved this makes my skin crawl but did we really need another event promoting Yasuo? Why? He's picked/banned enough as is. He didn't need promotion, he was already there.

I think the concept is great, and I'd love to see similar events with less...serious content (e.g. let's have a Banana v. Orange event with Soraka and Gangplank), but I'd really appreciate you not picking champs I already ban because I'm sick of seeing them.

Given the lore, Other rivalry's are what. Leona vs Diana JarvanIV vs Swain and Jinx vs Vi Caitlyn.

I think riv yas was the smarter choice due to champion popularity and how they fit similar roles in a comp (move around and kill things)

J4 v.s Swain could have been very cool. Dragon Slayer J4 getting revamped maybe and Dragon Master Swain. Although Swain still needs his VGU.

  1. its lore inspired

  2. they are 2 of the most popular champions in the game why wouldnt riot do an event for them

  3. there ban/pick rate has nothing to do with this promo

  4. your bias is showing

Popularity is the lazy man's cover. It lacks thought, originality, and leadership. Not to mention your monetary argument doesn't hold up, because there's more people who hate them than love them. And you're only sewing the seeds of discontent.

Naked money grabs are not a good look. And this was a naked money grab.

lmao don't take the board as reference.

so wait, one of the most popular champions? are you saying more people hate him then play him? that doesnt make sense on any field of thought. making a event for any popular champion serves more people then anyone who isnt considered popular.

Popularity isn't a lazy mans cover, its a fact. companies factor popularity when doing anything because they need to profit. leadership and originality has nothing to do with it, especially considering they have never done this type of event before which literally can be defined as an original idea.

this wasn't a naked money this was a lore inspired event that catered to about 20% of the community and included free content for just playing. unless free is considered a money grab now.

your bias is still showing.

they probably could have saved this event for the joined Kayle Morgana VGU they have planned.

i mean i dont mind it really. the skins look pretty cool and we get some extra loot out of it.

but morgana vs. kayle would have probably been even more fitting for the event.

This, why was Riven chosen as an angel and Yasuo chosen as a demon other than popularity? Kayle and Morgana makes more sense. Or you know whom else makes even more sense and still needs some attention and issues solved? Aatrox. Nightbringer Yasuo just seems like a cheap imitation of the Demon God of War.

Riven: sotry involved wanting to obtain redemption after being realizing her crimes against ionia

Yasuo: knowingly did wrong and only wants vengeance so that he may retain his honor.

one is a virtue

the other is a sin

Stopped by just to comment that I want the Banana v. Orange event now. XD

Yeah, pretty much. Oh look... ANOTHER Yasuo skin. Gee, I wonder who sells the most skins you guys? I think I can guess!

This "event" was just a big ol' weebfest edgelord battle between two piles of cancer that I personally don't give two shits about. It doesn't affect the game's lore. It doesn't affect much of ANYTHING... and I give absolutely NO shits about the two champs they picked for it. In a setting with so many diverse characters and interesting champions and stories they could tell, I'm really, REALLY sick of seeing the same old shit pushed on us over and over and over again.

Takazaki3 votes

same shit?

the last time riven was involved in anything was when again?

and the last time Yasuo was involved with anything ( story wise ) was Taliyah release and he wasnt the focus.

The Whamboozler2 votes

He's gotten a TON of skins since his release while older champions have gotten next to nothing. So yeah... just because the game's pace moves slow doesn't mean he's been neglected. He's on what.... five skins now? Considering how old he is, he's doing extremely well at getting new content put out for him.

Riven less so I guess, but god damn man. They could have made it a little less obvious that they only really care about the dudebros that play shit like that. I swear the Riven/Yas playerbase is pretty much the same people. Manaless AD spambots that snowball outta control and appeal to the edgelord weeb crowd. They're pandering REALLY hard to a lot of freakin' 15 year old edgelords and leaving a ton of other champions to languish. Again.

and i've lost interest. lmao

it was funny to humor you for a minute. but now its just sad.

Yet you came back on to post in a sad attempt to have the last word anyways. Jeez. The levels of deluded here are off the charts.

Well I guess in your magical world walking away from a discussion is winning it and throwing in the towel makes you champ. Good job, killer! You sure got me! Rock that faux distain and walk away pretending you did something and you've made a point somehow. All the other kids in class know how cool you are!

And when you've grown up and are ready to return to the big kids table, let us know.

Sun Wu Ryuumoku1 votes

Tbh i don't care about this event. If it was with other champ it would be same for me.

Sukishoo1 votes

They had to have something to kick off the new missions feature. I'm pretty sure people would cry one way or another no matter who was chosen. I'm fine with them even though I rarely play them (and don't care for them much either). We'll see plenty of others soon enough.

Riven and Yasuo both have very compelling stories that tie into each other. The new champion coming has a CHANCE at being related to Riven and Yasuo in lore. The skins fit Yasuo and Riven perfectly, as well as the event.
