Mordekaiser "The Ungankable"

Juggernauts are classified as champions with a combination of good offense and good defense at the sacrifice of mobility.

Their lack of mobility is what allows players to capitalize on mistakes made by them and catch them out when they are at their most vulnerable and coordinate with an ally to burst them down.

Nasus, Garen, Illaoi, and Darius are all juggernauts easily punished for poor positioning.

But not Mordekaiser.

Because of his ultimate. An ultimate Riot previously tested with Fiora and decided, correctly at the time, it was toxic and unfair.

His ultimate makes ganking him impossible. He's solo lane and is guaranteed to be ahead of the jungle in level because of all the nerfs dealt to the jungle over the years. And so when that jungle shows up to make an attempt against Mordekaiser, Morde basically has his pick of the litter on which enemy to take out first. He ensurees that his solo lane remains just that, a solo lane and it is pure toxic bullshit.

Both being ulted by him and watching an ally being ulted by him is painful to watch because there is no helping that ally. There is no helping top lane against Mordekaiser.

No lane should have this kind of immunity against ganks.

Whats your point? Have you ever tried to gank Leblanc or Zed or Kassadin ? Plenty of champs have ways to avoid ganks, whether it be super mobilityAhri , or other bullshit abilities Akali.

I think the point he's trying to make is that you cannot help your ally when morde goes in on them. If any of those other champs go in, despite their mobility, you can still deal damage to them, CC them, etc. With Morde you can just stand there and hope your ally doesn't die.

Pretty much this. I was wondering if I should have included a tid bit about ganking mobile champions. I thought it was a given that a mobile assassin usually is forced to run away for a bit. Not Morde.

It seems fitting for a juggernaut. How is it so greatly different from Illaoi? If she manages to catch your ally in her ultimate and is pummeling them, what can you do as many (melee) champions but stand there and hope your ally manages to escape? Are you going to charge in to the 'rescue' and give a double kill? It's the same with Darius too. If he's already pulled in your ally and stacked hemorrhage, are you going to jump in to help anyways? If you do, he'll just execute your ally and then get a reset to execute you too for a double kill.

Juggernauts' immobility means they don't get the same options to choose fights as certain other classes, but if you or your teammate choose a bad fight with them then they will punish your team. Ganking a fed juggernaut (or even unfed if you're a weak duelist) isn't always the answer. Juggernauts are slow at maneuvering, so you can better control the map with mobility and global utility without necessarily facing the juggernaut threat head-on. If your ally is repeatedly playing into the juggernaut's strengths then that's rough but you can't always help directly. You can group up with the others to take objectives around the map or rotate as a team to shutdown the fed juggernaut. And sometimes you won't find a good option and you'll lose the game, but that's true for every other class as well when their unique strengths shine through to carry a game.

Thank you for making that point about Illaoi. That is exactly true. And im glad Morde functions like this, because now toplaners have an actual counter to her bitch ass.
