Stop fucking playing new champs in ranked

Hibeki··50 votes·3,800 views

You aren't Dyrus, you aren't Rush. Nobody trusts your skill to adapt to a new champion in ranked.

Warwick has been out for less than a day, I have no reason to believe you are experienced enough in the game or in warwick to play him in ranked.

Play warwick in normals where you are meant to try new things. Dont ban him there either.

Stop playing new champs in ranked, there should seriously be a limit to when they are playable in ranked. At least a week to give EVERYONE time to adjust, and not just you.

Doesn't really bother me, every game I have people play champs that have been out for YEARS and the results are the same.

This comment triggers my PTSD with some ranked team mates.

Also, isn't Ivan the Boneless?

Hunted90001 votes

This comment shows all the troubles that we have, you have a much better time having someone try to figure out warwick than playing their 35% winrate lee sin in your ranked games.

"NEW WARWICK STILL FEELS SIMILAR TO OLD WARWICK, SO IT'S FINE HURR DURR"

No, it's completely not. Stop having this attitude as well.

Actually I feel like nothing actually changed at all except it was more better for WW to adapt to this new meta from his 2010-2012 meta.

The only thing that is 100% different is his ult that needs skill shot but other then that everything is the same but now he has E for fear and damage reduction. He is extremely more fun to play now and now he doesn't feel like a useless tool if his ult get CC instantly and become useless.

he's still extremely easy lol...

Blood hunt, press r, go ham.

He has no complexity in his kit. Which riot promised. It took me 10 minutes to learn his entire kit.

I don't care if you need time to adjust if you're on the enemy team. If you are on my team... well you should rest assured that warwick is very straightforward and easy AF to play. I'd understand your frustration if he were a more complex champ that had a bigger learning curve, but seriously he's easy. I played him one bots game and had him down, played a couple ranked games where I did well, but we lost. Relax man.

But... warwick as been out for 6 years :^)

This man. I'm banning WW from now on. All the games I've had someone on my team picked WW and ended up feeding super hard

No amount of bans in the world can stop junglers from smashing bot

EndlessSorcerer1 votes

Just banned Warwick in a game while I was the jungler. I got Hecarim and the enemy jungler got Vi.

Turns out the Vi desperately wanted to play Warwick and entered the game pre-tilted (which only worsened when she realized I started on her Red Buff).

Easy win.

So your an autist who bans champs so nobody can learn how to play them?

Castanean2 votes

in ranked

It's completely fair to not trust people with a champion/rework that's been out for less than a week. You don't want an inexperienced person on said champ in your ranked games, regardless of how mechanically simple they are. There's more to skill than just mechanics, after all.

Secondly; Do you actually know what "Autist" actually means? Because I don't think you do. Using autism as an insult is both silly and insensitive, so don't.

PBE is not equivable to live. Trust me. The environment is not enough to justify saying you can manage him in a ranked game. I say this as a PBE player myself and most anyone who also plays on PBE will tell u the same thing.

Ariel the Cruel1 votes

PBE, you have testers. Ranked you have trolls. Looks pretty close to me. ;p

Normals is where the real competition is! XD

"Dont ban him there either"

I think this is bigger than people understand. While everyone wants to play the new champion, it is also important to learn how to play against them. I still haven't gotten to play a single game against a Camille because she's always banned.

MXXXXXL1 votes

It's also because you have only played 5 games since her release.

The Lexer1 votes

Ranked. Normal games don't show up on match history

DrCyanide1 votes

Play Blind Pick then. In my experience you're more likely to have people fighting over Fill than over any other position, no one will ban your Champion, and the other team can't deny you the champion either.

Hunted90001 votes

Um no one fights over fill in blind pick...

DrCyanide1 votes

Plenty of people try to be the last one to pick their role. It's not uncommon to have two or so people without a role or champion selected, waiting for the other person to declare what they want.

TRUST ME I'M A Warwick MAIN! I WATCHED ALL THE PBE VIDEOS OF HIM AND READ HIS ABILITIES AND TRIED THEM IN CUSTOM!

Slich Bissi3 votes

I actually am a Warwick main and all these posers are leaving me butthurt as fuck. All last week and two days ago I could pick WW whenever I wanted. Nobody banned him. Nobody cared. A few people complained "WW is useless" but I had alright games with him win or lose. I miss his old quotes already. I miss his old VA.

I haven't gotten to play new WW yet. Only in custom games versus AI. People keep banning him, or in Blind Pick it's a gold rush to pick him first.

Get the fuck out posers none of ya'll gave a fuck about WW til today.

Gelmous2 votes

Yasuo isn't new either but everyone picking him ends up feeding really hard

Fegone2 votes

Don't play ranked for a week when a new champ comes out. what was that? oh yea: PROBLEM SOLVED

Troll for Trump1 votes

That's basically what already happens when someone gets autofilled.

Lauchmelder2 votes

Only if the autofilled person has their heads up their a$$ and doesn't bother learning at least 1-2 champions for each role.

Junkο1 votes

When I queue up as mid and top, I am ready to play mid, top an support (just in case). I'm not going to learn an ADC or jungle champion just because autofill exists. Even if I do learn somebody easy for both roles, I'm D3, I'm most likely either going to fed the enemy ADC or get massively outperformed by the enemy jungler so it isn't even worth trying. I neither have Diamond level jungling and ganking knowledge, and neither do I have knowledge on how people play against an ADC and how I should position in Diamond elo.

Lauchmelder1 votes

A guy once wrote about the difference between pre season 5 players and post season 5 players. It was a thread about how autofill was no problem at all for people that played pre season 5 and the rest is just too stuck up to bother learning.

Junkο1 votes

And that guy was talking completely out of his ass. I played since Season 2, if people didn't get high enough on the pick order they just yelled "X or feed" and threatened to troll and hold the game hostage. Hell I did it a lot, and it worked surprisingly well, very rarely did I have to dodge as people did it for me.

Troll for Trump1 votes

Yeah, no.

Most people aren't that stupid. It's easy if you actually bother thinking about it.

I "know" how to play 1-2 champs in each role.

Am I "good" at them? No. I'm obviously worse at the autofilled roles than I am at my "main" role. So, whenever I get autofilled, I'm automatically set to have a less chance of winning my lane, carrying, or making an impact on the game. In other words, whenever you autofill, you are already set to have a less chance of winning. Same thing with anyone else on your team or the enemy team that's autofilled. In any game, you want to optimize the chance of you winning, and autofill adds unpredictability.

Lauchmelder1 votes

I can take having a lower chance of winning in every tenth game. Autofill is not the problem.

Mighty Mortein1 votes

Warwick actually takes skill now to play properly. Timing your ult so you don't jump and whif. Whether or not to hold q to pounce behind the target, etc. If you first time WW in ranked and feed, I'll just end up reporting you for intentional feeding or something. At least have a few normal games to practice him. :(

FreeVolibear2 votes

The skill shot for his ult is not really that difficult, but I agree it is more so than his click and maul r of the past. The kit is really straight forward. The most difficult thing is using your q effectively and even that isn't really all that tough. Low learning curve. He's pretty easy for ranked after one or two games in normals.

Slich Bissi1 votes

It's essentially not possible unless you no life it and get extreme luck. I tried to play him in 4 games last night. Two Unranked Draft (he was banned both games), then swapped to Blind Pick where literally every person smashes "jg" as soon as chat opened. It's just not really possible to practice him right now except in custom made AI games.

CppL1 votes

I just played WW first time after his rework.End up 14/3/8.Problems? i missed so many ulti tho, lol.

Teemodanegro1 votes

ban him then?

3TWarrior1 votes

This has been brought up so many times in the past

honestly, unless the character is a Sion Sion class rework, most of the champions are significantly unchanged.

examples of sion class are: Shen, poppy, kassadin, malzahar, mordekaiser and Sion...that's basically it for all of riot's history

Most champions have stayed the same to play as ( if not becoming fundamentally stronger with their new gameplay elements added in)

examples of such champions are: Nidalee, janna, soraka, and many more

though stronger is a loose term, healthier can be exchanged. Janna and soraka used to be bot-style play champions. Now there is a bit of decision making required

Jet Sett1 votes

New Warwick is literally old Warwick but fun. Oh and his ult is a skillshot now, that's about it. The real question is can they play something with a more significant goal in mind.

CancerBasedGod1 votes

No.
