As an ADC, how do I fight Draven?

Title.

Have never won a lane against a competent Draven as any other ADC. Usually end up dying a few times and then he snowballs out of control.

I know supports can aim CC at his axes, but he can just push Q. And what if I can't rely on my support? What can I do as an ADC?

Poke where possible but avoid all ins and mostly just farm until jg/mid can gank and your team can reliably kill him without him getting a cash in. He has one of the strongest early games for adcs, and his passive is all about snowballing (and ensures that trading kills is worth for him, so don't do that). Your goal is simply to avoid letting him get any cash ins, and then if he's been prevented from being snowballed you can probably begin to fight him mid-late depending on your own adcs powerspikes.

Haha, I feel like that's about it.

Pick MissFortune lol Her Q can chop off half of his health at level 1 if he stands behind a minion.

You don't fight him early. Seriously, he will kill you. His whole passive his meant souly for snowballing. After 2 items, most adcs can beat him and definitely out team fight him.

Draven does really well when he chains his axes. Either force poke him when he goes to catch them or burst him and get out. He has really high DPS when he catches axes. Never go in if he has 2 axes up. Varus, MF, Jhin, and Cait all do pretty well against him. You either have to beat him before he finishes his Youmuu's (the hard way) or you have to outlast his early game until he falls off (the easier way). Don't bother trading if you can't win and he has lifesteal he has one of the best lifesteals in the game. Poking is his weakness and if you can aim it at his axe it forces him to take damage or drop the axe.

Although a really good draven with his crit build can destroy teams.

As an adc you need to worry more about getting cs and keeping yourself safe from ganks.

Unlike 99% of the playerbase in my ELO, I know what a map is, and frequently use it. I also know how every champ in the game works, and very rarely get killed in ganks (unless it's something I can't dodge like a Vi ult or a Lee ward hopping into my face and ulting me).

I also know how to farm and farm under tower. :P

Then why are you losing lane to Deaven. Why does this thread exist.

Niyumi1 votes

Because Draven is just up and, "OH HEY! I'm goinna one shot you real' quick."

well he is gonna push hard as adc... and try to be aggressive early cuz it benefits him even if the all in goes 1 for 1 cuz of his passive...

try to be safe and passive in lane unless there is a clear advantage to go ham because due to his passive he snowballs like crazy.

adcs that can zone or slow /harass him do well

cait, ashe, varus

just try to poke him with abilities and wait for him to push have jungler ready for a gank and then turn on him as long as you get out of lane with out feeding him kills even if youre down a few cs and maybe even lost turret its a push/nearly a win

he fails in team fight situations

if you want to duel him items like item 3046 is helpful and always get a item 3072

if you have a cait use the traps and try to play them where his axes land

ashe use your volley to slow him to keep from catching axes, save your ult for picks on him when he is out of position and jungler is ganking

varus with his long range Q and his E which is an aoe slow and reduces healing is nice and his ult is great for slowing him and catching him out

Unless you have good cc on your support, waiting till your powerspike is usually a good idea.

Also, I thought you didn't play adcs.

Thing about fill mains, you play every role. Even if ADC puts me to sleep and feels like cheating, I still have to play it every now and then.

TyrekGoldenspear1 votes

So even with a Draven Dravening all over you and your support, you still fall asleep and feel like you're cheating?

Niyumi1 votes

No, when Draven is bullshitting all over me, I tilt out of the room. xD I usually ban Draven if I'm ADC.

Lol, i can relate.

Faced a good one when i was learning Braum X(

Fortunately i restored my honor by pounding a Draven in another game with my trusty Taric.

The few times I've played ADC and ended up against a Draven, I was usually playing Ashe/Varus and it wasn't a completely terrible experience. Especially as Varus, ult and just auto/cast from your auto range, because he can't hit you with anything besides E/R.

Play safe and poke him. If he only has one axe spinning you can auto attack him once while his axe is in the air. It might not sound like a lot but if you consistently auto him when he goes to CS it adds up over time. People who play Draven typically are very cocky and you can bait them into bad engages as well. My favorite pick into Draven is Miss Fortune since her Q can wreck him and you can disengage with your E so he can never get close to you.

You pick Caitlyn or Varus and abuse your range and the fact that your arrow/traps can be placed where his axes are going to land.

A major part is supports it depends on your support and his support

Get a good support like leona, nami, malz etc to shut him down~
