Friendly reminder that Stonebound > Courage > Grasp

I've always wondered why every tank isnt running Stonebound. One of the biggest reasons why everybody disliked Ardent was because of the flat lifedrain, right? So why isnt Stonebound seeing more play when it's a free Ardent but more healing by upwards of 100 or more? Especially over Courage which is inconsistent and low values?

Dont even get me started on Grasp. It might as well not even exist.

Grasp is really good for trading though, especially against other duelist and sustaining yourself in lane. Grasp isn't as bad as you make it out to be.

Grasp is lane potential, courage is for teamfighting and stoneborn is for a little extra utility.

Stoneborn Pact requires a frequent use of CC.

Not many Support Champions have CC on a Low Cooldown, and those that do can have better options such as Courage of the Colossus.

Which majority of tanks does apply frequent CC and Courage is literally not better. Its not exclusive to hard CC either unlike Courage. Also, the Stoneborn marks lasts for 4 seconds. You would be gimping not only your ADC but your team as whole by not wanting to heal them for 60+ per auto flat. Which is a Bloodthirst equivalent if not more sustain to your whole team.

Champions such as Blitzcrank Leona Thresh benefit better with Courage of the Colossus because their playstyle revolves around strong engages once in a while and protecting the ADC whilst their engage is on Cooldown. They are not going to stay on the enemy team 24/7 because that is downright stupid.

Leona: "Don't mind me. I'm just taking a ton of aggro from the Enemy and their Minions, and I have no abilities available to use but that's okay, the ADC is healing for 60 hp."

Champions such as Braum TahmKench benefit better with Stoneborn Pact as they have a ranged form of CC they can use to harass the Enemy without being on the enemy 24/7. And they are designed to peel the ADC rather than engage.

Blitz is a catcher and doesnt engage in a same sense Leo does and the shield you obtain is determined by the amount of nearby enemies around you, not the CC'd champion. Meaning that you will be getting practically nothing. You have a more of a case with Thresh because he's ranged and would only get half of Stoneborn heals.

Leona : "Don't mind me. I'm just peeling for my carries and tons of aggro, and even though I have died, we won the teamfight due to immense amount of sustain I provided for my ADC."

And are you seriously saying Leo isnt the type of champ that wants to stick to the enemy 24/7? And do you really think a single person surviving is more practical than a whole team surviving and winning a team fight? It's called "worth"

Some champions literally don't do anything without Grasp.

Collossus is for pure tanks with no allied shield.

5% health is barely noticeable when enemy ardents fuck you up :P

More like the other way around. Grasp literally doesnt do anything for champions. If it actually heals you for 3% unmitigated and maybe half on minions then sure. In order to to be in combat for 4 seconds and then to auto the champ for tiny extra damage and a very small heal? It's a worse Warlord in everyway. The only thing Grasp has over Warlord is the Legendary Guardian/Tenacity masteries.

Collossus is for pure tanks with no allied shield.

If we were talking about pre-nerf Colossus then I would be more inclined. However the amount, duration, CD, and additional shielding radius proc makes it absolutely minuscule. Would you rather have a 500 shield on average only for yourself or heal your allies for 80+ flat per auto? If you're playing as a full tank then that shield isnt going to do much for you nor your team.

5% health is barely noticeable when enemy ardents fuck you up :P

Why not both assuming we're talking about pre-nerf Ardent? And you could heal more than what either Ardent could dish out except for the very early game.

Stonebound isn’t really life drain, it’s more health regeneration based on the tanks HP (if I remember it correctly).

As for why it’s not used by all tanks, some prefer more aggressive abilities like grasp or courage over supportive ones.
