Don't just nerf tank junglers

When tanks were weak, tanks got buffed, and everything was nerfed (except for Magus, which isn't that great anyways) over time. In the beginning of Season 5, Devourer got smacked in the mouth, along with Warwick, who was really the only person who is was absolutely broken on (and that was only with Red smite, which was also nerfed that patch, 'cause you know, triple nerfs aimed at mainly one champion seems fair). Middle of the season, pretty recent actually, Warrior took a few hits. And recently, Cinderhulk came out was deemed OP, so now it will most likely be nerfed. Meaning this season, in which the jungle was already more difficult to begin with, has been nerfed constantly.

Perhaps the problem isn't that tanks are too strong in the jungle (although that Smite/TP top might become a problem), but the problem is rather that everything else is too weak. Instead why not slightly buff the other enchants so they aren't balls compared to Cinderhulk. What if Warrior got a slight buff (whether it be the damage or Pen, either way. Although I do remember a while back them talking about removing the base pen and having it do 10% bonus damage to champions, although I could easily see that becoming another OP Smite top lane). Devourer could gets its base damage up. Let's be honest, when was the last time anyone had a problem because someone's devourer was just way too strong. I can get up to 100 stacks and still barely notice a change in my damage because my normal items are giving me way more. And nobody thinks AP junglers are OP. Let's be honest, has anyone ever thought "Man, Fiddlesticks is broken with that Magus enchant!" No, because Magus isn't nearly as powerful as virtually every other AP item.

TL;DR: Don't nerf tanks, buff the other junglers who are weak right now.

the solution is to just buff ap items and make them tank killers, they want to dive, we should be able to punish them for it. adcs/mid laners dont have the tools to 1v1 them, its always a team effort of bring down the tank. no one should be that strong just for building a certain way.

tanks weren't as potent because back in the day of siege mid laners like ziggs syndra and nidalee sieges for days, tanks didnt have the opportunity to just dive on in because they were frequently already at half health from poke damage. with no more infinite mana spam capabilities they cant widdle them down from safety and instead need to 100-0 them, which is quite difficult to do.

item 3035 item 3031 item 3153 and the upcoming item 3071 Should help. But I agree with the guy.. AP junglers are in need of some buffs.

Hey, whatever makes Fizz Jungle viable is okay with me :)

Fizz jungle has always been viable, back before his changes he could go AP jungle, then AD on-hit jungle, now AP again

Buff Devourer and Magus, give Warrior backs it's 5 AD, and buff currently not entirely viable non-tank junglers (Elise Khazix Nocturne Shaco Warwick ). Elise could use some minor damage buffs, Kha' could use some ultimate buffs, Nocturne needs some QoL buffs and maybe some situation specific buffs, Shaco could use something, Warwick could get a little longer W duration).

For example, I remember one time Riot released something on the PBE that greatly reduced the cool down of Nocturne's ultimate if he didn't use the dash during it. I think that would be cool as long as the cool down was reduced to something small like 19/17.5/16 seconds.

i personally think shaco is pretty much fine right now what exactly do u want changed for him?

If you had a 16 second cooldown global vision denial, would you ever jump?

I agree, but people will still complain about cinder hulk as long a top laners are still getting it. which probably means that Cinder Hulk is Redonculous, not only as a Jungle item but in general. Then again, considering that only Shyvana and Hecarim can sacrifice their flash for the smite, they can be balanced around Cinderhulk.

Back in the day, Bruisers did the Tanks job better. which is why they where not as prevalent. Siege mages weren't tank killers, though they could definitely out trade them if they could hold the line of scrimage. Tanks are as hard to kill as they are because they need to tank the entire team. Even if you can kite them, you won't be able to kill a tank with any amount of quickness unless your team foucses them.

Their probably isn't a good way to make a mage a Tank buster. Lots of Burst damage would become even more oppressive against squishies if it had passive MR shred or HP% damage. The answer is the sustained physical damage, your ADC is the tank buster.

A tank is a burst counter? This is borken!

I say let tanks have their day in the sun, so what if a few top laners get jung summoners & items? That's a pretty big sacrifice. AD junglers had the upper hand for a few years, now let this one ride for a bit. Personally I like the longer battles because they feel more strategic and less random, although I've moved away from liking tank junglers at exactly the wrong time.

I don't have a problem with the lesser smites and jungle items being buffed, but I do think cinder hulk needs nerfs as does challenging smite. Tanks are just to difficult to deal with currently, they are essentially damage soaking walls who also dish out damage passively-for everyone's sake please nerf thorn mail too.

Warrior - + 5 AD Devourer - + 5 on-hit damage, making it 30 from 25, to go along with Recuve Bow change Magus - I think it's a good item, 80 AP and 20% CDR for relatively cheap, it just needs something small Cinderhulk - the problem isn't the damage, it's the +25% health, maybe increase the damage a small amount and reduce the health

You want tanks to do more damage and tank less? You mean, turn tanks into bruisers?

aaronconlin1 votes

Um no, but Cinderhulk is extremely strong, so lowering the aspect that's making it stronger than the others and giving it some sort of compensation (uh..) seems to be the right way to go. Changing one item a small amount isn't going to change the play style of tanks

+1. Its proven that it works. Nidalee jungle was thrown out of the spotlight because of the rise of the tank junglers.

The problem with buffing items, like warrior and devourer, is that bruisers will rise again and take whatever is best, because of how they itemize, and we'll see more Rek'Sai, Vi, Lee Sin, and Jarvan. You'd really have to buff individual champions, not items.
