Can we get some acknowledge that game quality below plat has never been worse
You're fishing for that one good, competitive game out of 10.
You're fishing for that one good, competitive game out of 10.
I agree. 90% of games are a complete stomp one side or the other. The matchmaking is about as bad as humanly possible.
You can't argue with that, matchmaking is pretty damn bad But it has always been really bad TBH
What makes it even shittier is the stupid amount of snowballing, the absurd scaling of bot lane and the ridiculous early game influence of jungle. You fall behind and there is almost no way of making a comeback. If matchmaking put a weak player in your team you are effectively screwed doubly so if they are in the jungle or bot lane.
Then there is a lot of other stupid shit currently in the game which doesn't help either like the retarded amounts of damage for example.
I have a feeling most of this happened due to cries for agency people wanted to feel influential on their own so everything can now fight everything. and as a result of everything getting agency nobody truly has agency.
FOR EXAMPLE Almost any champion can fight a tank these days and kill them besides those that do not build damage, ofc not oneshot them and the likes but still kill them quickly enough, imagine what 5 people can do. stupid amounts of damage % damage and penetration/true damage. Which again doesn't help with the snowballing situation. Only because players went crying mimimi i can't kill this guy i want to play COD of legends but he wont let me, well yes that is the whole point of building tank items.
There is just a lot of things wrong with the game play itself which makes the poor matchmaking an even worse problem then it used to be. Since right now one weak player has about 10 times more influence over the outcome of the game then 1 strong player.

The Absolute State Of LEEG
I wish this game would just die already so I could move on.

First season playing? It has been like this all the way and is not the matchmaking, this wont change ever because is the nature of 5 randoms vs 5 randoms.
I've played since the end of season 3. The only time games were ever close to being balanced was the tank meta in Season 5 or 6 (?). Games went about 45 minutes and were actually close since, if you fell behind early, you could stall out long enough to get back in it. Then it was actual skill that determined who won the game, since the stupid snowball champs became less relevant.

Actual skill? Do you mean the team that had a Ziggs that could stall the game all day long so they could catch up is a measure of skill? Games that take 45 mins for everyone to get back in its not even close to be balanced.
In order to close out a game early, you had to actually be good. Right now it has nothing to do with actual skill since snowball champs are just way too strong and just one shot people with zero counterplay.
Being able to stall out a weak early game to get back into it is actual balance if it takes some skill to stall games.

its not the "matching's fault" its the fact that the people who suck have that MMR to begin with. THATS the reason the games are inbalanced. becuase at lost of trash player have mmr higher than what they should have
one bad player loses the game for 5 people. therefore every time you get a bad player and lose a game 3 other good (or maybe one or 2 if u had multipla bad players) also lose mmr.
this makes it much harder for the good players to climb. on the flip side every time u pull off a miracle and carry the trash player THEY GAIN MMR making the issue even worse. and as long as there remains and influx of brand new player who skill level is 100% guarenteed to be bronze for the first 10 ranked game you will ALWAYS have this issue. becuase until riot STOPS putting new players into silver. it is nearly impossibly to climb out of silver. at least in bronze this issue wont be as prevalent, becuase you already need to carry trash players.. and said trash players will also be on the opposing team therefore even if they get fed, they usally end up thinking they are gosu or somthing and try to 1v5 and end up throwing
Starting on Gold you can somehow expect reasonable things from your mates, like an ADC not 1v1'ing at mele a fed Darius, or even a jungler counterganking. In Silver EVERYTHING is absolutely random. Winning only depends on at what ratio the dumbest player on one of the teams will do dumb things. And you would think that there is only one division difference, but that's completely misleading. There are hundreds of thousands of players of difference between Silver 5 and Silver 1. Almost half of the playerbase of Lol is playing on one single division.
In my experience, it's way easier and rewarding to play in Gold than in Silver. Hope season 9 will fix this issues with the new divisions added.
Below D2*
Anything below D2 is awful. Trust me. We're all in this together. **Stay strong. ** http://www.auplod.com/u/lapuoda6bee.png
Even when it's not a stomp either way, it just feels bad because everyone (Yes including you and I) are shit and do stupid shit
Game feels bad when you lose.
Game still feels bad when you stomp.
It's because autofill decides games.
That's why they are changing the ranked system where every position has it's own rank. They know it is ruining game quality.
I wonder how they will prevent abuse of that system. Like how do you stop say a plat mid queuing as a gold top then switching with the mid?
I know someone asked that question, but I lost the thread and I don't know if Riot responded.

And that change of the ranked system will screw up soloQ even more...if you get autofilled there is no reason to even try to win because your main role's rank won't suffer
You'll still lose ELO even if you're autofilled. Your main rank and your positions rank will drop in ELO, so I would hope you at least try to win if you get filled. The problem with their new system is if you get filled and your teammates swap with you so you get onto your main role, matchmaking will still not be balanced because you're on your main role whereas someone else may be filled. They also said in the thread that when you win an autofilled game, you gain extra benefits for playing to win so for those people who like extra BE, XP, maybe a chest, etc, those benefits will be skewed because you're abusing the system.

Even when autofilled? Interesting, but I'm confused, what's the point of seperate elo for each role if I'll lose elo for my main role even when I'm autofilled?Or you mean that I'll lose MMR but not LP on my main role? (I'm a supp main so autofill is a mystery to me, I'm just worried about autofill situation) And about swapping, that's my biggest concern after autofilling. I can queue up with my friend who's adc main, and we can just swap our main roles (I can pick adc primary, and my duo partner can pick supp primary and just switch roles in champ select)
I mean't to say the position you're playing and obviously the rank that corresponds with that position will lose ELO. So if you're filled top, you're top position will lose or gain rank rather than if you're a support main who gets filled jungle, you're jungle position will lose rank instead of your support position.

So if I don't have any intentions to grind rank for, lets say, top and jg, and I somehow get filled in those roles, technically there is no reason for me to try my hardest to win, or to even play actually, because it won't hurt my main or secondary role's rank. (but ofc I'll always try to win dw :P) And knowing that Riot is slow af hen it comes to banning trolls, I think it will be messy next season. Just my speculation.
Yeah I'm not sure how it's going to work. Will just have to wait and see. I'm just excited for change because nothing can be better than this garbage.
... how would you know?
Like Riot will admit anything that could cripple their income. Yeah mhm, I see that heppning 101%.
In bronze the game is usually decided on who has more tanks or who has more Autofill. It's terrible like that and one of the reasons bronze is so hard to climb out of.

How do you get autofilled in bronze when there are 10 times more players queuing to play than let's say diamond and above?
You just do. Ask Riot not us.
Nobody wants to support in bronze.
Even though IMO it is the best way to get out of it.
Janna? Nah fam that's how you lose by putting all your faith in your team. Full AP
or
are much better at "solo" carrying from the support role.
Bronze is actually only 18% of the playerbase while Silver is I think 48%.

How do you get autofilled in bronze when there are 10 times more players queuing to play than let's say diamond and above?
You would be surprised, actually.
the "bellow plat" in that statement is unnecessary.
I think one of the main frustration factors about League is the fact that most victories are a team effort, whereas many defeats can be attributed to the performance of a single player. Nothing feels worst than actively trying to win, and making some good plays, only for the game to fall apart because botlane has a combined score of 0/11.
Sure, there are definitely instances where a particular player gets carried, but usually those players are at least going even or stopping their deficit from hemorrhaging across the map but it isn't so for losses. I wish individual performance was a bigger factor in the ranking system for this precise reason.
If a Baron is on the map, you can't play anything less than perfect to acquire it or abuse its presence because of its massive effect on the game state. Snowballing is apparent from it, especially since Banner is built again to abuse it. The RNG of dragons is also rather absurd, considering even the casters shrug off anything that isn't Earth or Infernal unless you get 3. It's terribly imbalanced. First blood turret is obscenely unnecessary, but at least red buff doesn't proc anymore so the jungler can't repeat gank and then help the laners take your turret quick at level 4. We also have the ADC issue, which is cost of items and their effectiveness to the class -- and supports being much more powerful than before supplementing the problem.
Silver is an elo that houses former plats, golds, the rare diamonds, many fresh 30 players, and bronzes. Basically an elo that exists just to give imbalanced matchmaking; and I'm glad Riot finally recognized something about it and are adding two new divisions around Silver and Diamond next season (still rather late in). So, low Gold is populated with the same imbalance and toxic matchmaking due to the leniency of matchmaking attempting to shorten queue times in its attempt to kill two birds with one stone on fairness and time queued.
There are multiple facets to this season that are making for a rather tedious experience, but it seems to be being worked on.
That's the biggest load of flying BS I've ever seen lol. Plat is just a whole bunch of boosted Silvers and toxic Golds. There is nothing really special about Platinum, it's like the teenage years of life. Silver is your childhood where you are all a bunch of innocent noobs, Gold is when you start learning curse words, and Platinum is when you are in that awkward phase of half adult, half child + curse words. Diamond and up is when you grow up to be an adult but it's not like every adult is mature, so you will find the occasional toxic feeder there too but Plat is where it's at.
Let me tell you something and let it sink in.
You are a plat 5. Playing in Gold 4-3 MMR.

That is. EXACTLY. What I mean dude. [slayer-pantheon-thumbs]
Yup. 90% of the games are stomp or get stomped.
And it's not because the enemy was good.
It's because we had a shit player in our team. Legit auto-filled or FIRST TIME TRYING A CHAMPION. IN RANKED.
I am not kidding, track my last 10 games. All loses were due to auto-fills / first timers. All my wins had people that had their champs.
This is unfair.
One thing's for sure, the quality of players in gold this season seems like the quality of mid silver back in season 5. Literally, the quality of the divisions is so much lower now and flexQ in season 6 is the reason. The ranks got extremely fucked up, bronze players were easily boosted to gold and now sit there comfortably.

Probably because there are more boosted players in general. I used to think the whole "boosted" thing was just a meme until I started smurfing and saw boosters almost every other game.
Yeah, that's true as well. I have 2 other accounts started in bronze and in silver 1 at the moment, and I've seen quite a lot of people who seem much better than their elo, probably boosting.

I actually think the reason is promo helper. If you look at stats from season 6 compared to previous seasons, you'll notice a huge shift of players out of bronze and into gold and silver.
True, I didn't calculate that. Essentially a free win in a scenario where you need to do 2 consecutive ones. Very important, indeed.
[{quoted}](name=Snowman Arc,realm=EUNE,application-id=3ErqAdtq,discussion-id=1qvr8H0R,comment-id=000400010000,timestamp=2018-05-11T20:33:12.790+0000)

The thing is that promo helper doesn't alter MMR/Elo, so it doesn't matter. Someone who's in Silver 5 but is really Bronze 2 in skill level is still getting matched with Bronze 2s. However, there are a lot of people with Silver MMR that are Bronze 2 in skill level, largely because of autofill, DQ's continued impact on rank, the fact that people who play hundreds and hundreds of games are guaranteed to go up in MMR even if they're losing at a 47% winrate, the fact that people may climb on one champion (maybe an overtuned one) than randomly play other champions, etc.
Well, MMR doesn't matter as much if your rank says silver 4 instead of silver 5. Once you rank up, you just stay there, you need 3 losses on 0 LP to drop back, so you kinda lock that place.
[{quoted}](name=Snowman Arc,realm=EUNE,application-id=3ErqAdtq,discussion-id=1qvr8H0R,comment-id=0004,timestamp=2018-05-11T08:58:20.931+0000)

The way the MMR system works is the problem. Its too easy to just maintain your rank. Because as long as you just focus on not screwing up you have four other chances to get carried. The you get replaced high based on your placement last season.
This is cliche, but I find it very rare to just sit there and not die and have someone else to carry me. If I don't do the most work, then no one will. It's very rare, and I have played all roles, so I even have left people the AD or Mid position open to carry me, but it doesn't happen.

You misunderstand the point.
I never said you'd climb the ranks by just focusing on not screwing up.
I said it's too easy to maintain your rank doing that. Which contributes to having loads of bad players hanging around at elos they shouldn't be at.
This also contributes to making it easier for good players to rise out of elo hell because they have to carry like hercules to overcome all the dead weight.
Only below plat? Nah fam, it gets worse the higher you go. More autofills.
about 50% of all ranked players are in silver about 20% to 30% in gold and bronze.... and less than 1 % in plat and above ofcourse quality will be different.
