Question for the 2 non-toxic Vayne mains that wont flame me for asking this

Question about starting off for Vayne and only Vayne.

As opposed to the typical dorans blade + pot start for Vayne specifically would it be better to start long sword + 4 pots and run life steal quints.

I asked this before on here and got small feedback and I recently asked a few Vayne player friends of mine and they said this could work

Vayne is a late game champ so early on the attackspeed you get from quints isn't THAT drastic. Since running long sword would help you reach bork faster you'd easily get that attackspeed back especially since masteries + bork + zerker boots can easily give you a ton of attackspeed (and phantom or shiv if you build it) to the point that the attackspeed bonus from runes is forgetable

Since bork is the rush on vayne allowing her to get it faster by starting longsword would make it easier for her to reach her 1st item before the opposing adc.

I can only see this working well on vayne since she doesn't rush IE like the rest of the adcs

Attack speed in runes are taken for scaling purposes less than laning purposes.

Life steal quints are also meant for scaling, but attack speed is just better since the rune rework awhile back. Remember that by taking life steal quints you're losing out on damage, which reduces your lifesteal even more.

Longsword start isn't terrible in a bad matchup, but the extra flat health from dorans is really good in all in situations which is where Vayne thrives and the lifesteal from dorans starts to scale really well once you get a couple of items. If you're against a Caitlyn then the longsword start probably isnt a bad idea since you won't be attacking the wave much for sustain anyways, but if you're against anything else it's generally better to go Dorans just in case you have an opportunity to go for a kill.

You'd also be in bot lane with a support though, I thought the point of vayne was to just farm and survive the laning phase until late game where she shines. Since you outscale just about every other adc you don't really need hp since someone like bard/raka/sona etc. can just heal you.

No, not really farm and survive. Vayne has a lot of kill pressure in lane and a damn strong all in. She excels in split pushes and skirmishes. The reason people say she's weak early is because she has no waveclear so it's easy for her to get pushed in or lose trades due to minion disadvantage.

I've seen many times in LCS adc players to build BT, not BORk - vs Tanks... BORK + Ghostblade gives you 1v1 potential, but no survivability in teamfights.

Uh. It would be Longsword + 3 Pots. Not 4. But regardless... Lifesteal Quints aren't great anymore. And because of how well Attack Speed synergizes with Vayne, there is really no reason to ever abandon the latter. Longsword is okay IMO when you plan on backing early in the lane and/or need the extra sustain from the potions (Think vs Draven). But if it's a normal lane where you know you won't get dumpstered, you might as well start with doran's blade, since you should almost always have the 1400 you need for cutlass on your first back.
