Wit's End badly needs slot efficiency

This is the one thing that keeps this item from being purchased; Wit's End is simply too hard to slot into its best-case scenario compared to any other item. Why would any self-respecting fighter buy an item like Wit's End with as situational stats and value as Wit's End has, when I could buy much stronger and more well-rounded items that, even if they're lots more expensive, give me much better powerspikes that I'm designed to require?

Even the terrible build path can be overlooked if the full item itself could actually justify the slot it takes up. If it had, like, you know, some health in place of MR, or if it got rid of its MR shred for superior stats and a higher price tag, then I guarantee you we would see this as a common pickup on champions like Warwick, Volibear, maybe even Irelia.

It needs a rework not slot efficiency

the concept of the item is fine, its overly-niche stats and, frankly, unhealthiness of these stats when it's a good item would probably justify a soft rework

i'd be very happy with it turning into a phage item tbh, having that passive on Volibear / Warwick since they can't use tri or cleaver would be absolute heaven

That would be interesting. Maybe it needs to be split up also. So make your soft rework version and a version with the magic resist shred that would help AP fighters.

agreed a soft rework, keep the AS and MR and on hit dmg, bonus mr from hits for sure and some for of penetration.
Idk if I like the stealing mr part that much. atm a lot of its value is for team play/follow up from allies. yet a lot of the heroes that would want it already bring a lot to their team with their kits.

Or if the item generated a magic absorbing "overheal" style shield a bit similar to Bloodthirster....

It has plenty of slot efficiency at max stacks, the only problem is its a niche item.

Way too niche. No point in building it.

No, it has high gold efficiency - not slot efficiency. It being a niche item is why it has bad slot efficiency - the situations where you can say Wit's End would be a really good buy are too few and far between, so even if it's very gold efficient, you still don't look at the item almost ever.

Um..

Warwick. Jax, Irelia, Volibear, Shyvana, Phoenix Udyr. There's already a sizable audience of champions who would love to buy Wit's End if it was worth buying.

I just have random fits of... depression? Questioning my worth? Something like that?

Anyways, what you're looking for is basically a magic Black Cleaver.

Wit's End

Recurve Bow (1000) + Negatron Cloak (720) + Ruby Crystal (400) + 980 = 3100

+300 Health +30% Attack Speed +40 Magic Resist

Unique Passive: Your basic attacks deal 42 bonus Magic Damage on-hit.

Unique Passive - Pierce: Your basic attacks (on-hit) reduce the Magic Resist of enemy champions by 7% for 6 seconds, stacking up to 6 times.

(Void Staff's passive updated to also be named Pierce so they don't stack.)

Just an example.

Problem is it has to be expensive because Attack Speed is worth a lot of gold, especially when it's paired with a fairly high amount of flat bonus damage. Wit's End being so niche is the only reason it's not a completely insane item off sheer gold value alone, same as Nashor's Tooth (Nashor's is nearly 140% gold efficient without its on-hit damage).
