@Meddler when are we going to see assassins again in pro play?

last times assassins were viable in general was season 5 (fizz, zed, diana, rengar, ekko) nowdays the only assassins that are viable are kha zix and nocturne here and there. and thats about it

I don't understand how you guys drove the class out of competitive for 3 straight seasons. I really want a response mr Riot Meddler. because regardless of meta. assassins are never played in general in pro play. not even as pocket picks. and am not going to count leblanc because shes practically a mage.

most assassins cannot lane against a lot of mages. except for talon and lb really. for obvious reasons. stopwatch is not good for the game for many reasons that do not have to even do with assassins. but here is the deal. assassins are not good because bruisers as we've seen. do enough damage and even melee bruisers are safer picks than most assassins in a team comp. zhonya and GA are far too easy to get and too strong

split pushing and poke comps have died. its all deathball and baron push comps. this is the second reason assassins aren't great. you can't really isolate targets when they can push baron and 5 man every lane for towers

if this class isn't objectively useful then remove it. lcs is the ultimate test of objective strength. if world class players cant utilize this class. there is a problem.

LCS viewership went from 300k-500k in S5 to nowdays 120-150k at best case scenario. and it has to do partially with the stagnant meta that has plauqed LCS for over 3 years now. I watch lcs closely. and I certainly can bring up statistics of pickrates to prove my point. but you probably already know.

LCS is a product for us the viewers. and that product is simply been the same for too long. its not very appealing at the moment. and what proves that? the viewers HEAVILY decrease every year. this is the lowest year for LCS viewership. and am taking into account youtube and the twitch streams am watching.

Many team comps and playstyles have to be viable in competetive or its heading for a mediocre direction. I really doubt you guys even make money from LCS at this point after the investment in franchising

Never. Assassins are too feast or famine as a class to be viable in competitive. What do they bring apart from death as CC? At least a mage would bring utility alongside their damage.

Depending on which champs are meta mid, the only assassins you might see are Talon (less so since they nerfed his W), Ekko (as a counterpick to Syndra if she becomes meta), or the odd Fizz or Kha'Zix.

Riot are trying to focus on the LCS yet are still butchering it.
