Jungle is no longer able to freely remove all the impact from solo laners.

Moreover, laners now have actually viable ways to deny junglers, something that wasn't really possible since introduction of machete and talisman (i.e. stealing a camp to punish a gank early in the game is literally impossible for many champions, and not worth it on others due to reduced exp, but new scuttles are more accessible).

Sure, the changes were drastic and some junglers, like tanks, were hit too hard, but 8.10 is a huge leap in right direction.

Not going to lie, buffing the scuttle was a good thing, but having the jungle centered around it is just awful. Now, unless you're playing a jungler that can 1v1 early, you're screwed; your whole pathing now revolves around the random timer of scuttle. If you don't get it, you might as well have been invaded and lost 2 buffs. Oh, scuttle is spawning bot when you're clearing your top camps? Rush down to get 1v2'd by the bot lane.

I'm sure it would have been much better if they hadn't nerfed the xp from other camps so much.

The problem with denying junglers as laners is that junglers don't typically have a strong early game anyways

This change as a whole is so despised simply because it forces a meta of early game junglers like Warwick and kicks out a large portion of weaker early game junglers. Evelynn is almost unviable simply because her early game isn't strong enough to contest scuttle, essentially another buff that's required now.

A forced meta = less creativity, less off-meta picks, and less diversity. I think the change brought some really good improvements, but I think it also brought far more disadvantages.
