@meddler Any plans on Elise atm?
Simple question, doesn't need a big response.

@meddler while you are at it, what are the plans for Aatrox?
make another thread if you want to talk about aatrox lol.
i have run out of hope for elise. we have asked thread upon thread for just SOMETHING about Elise, since she is absolute shit right now, but Rioters don't even comment on them. she needs a rework imo, because if she gets buffed, she's broken, and if she gets nerfed, she's trash.
I know how you feel but its better to keep bringing her up, they have to respond at some point. I don't want her to be pushed under a rug til a rework a year later.
but there are popular threads about her what, 4 times a day? Maybe even 5? it is really obvious that elise needs help, and the fact that they're helping ashe before elise is.. depressing, to say the least.

I really don't agree that Elise can't be buffed without being broken. A generalist she may be but there are a lot of generalist champions who don't cause problems - she should at least be allowed the power level shared by people like Jarvan and Lee Sin.
Elise is actually in a wonderful spot, and if you can play elise, i suggest you pull her out in the jungle. My buddy did it the other day and her % health damage hard counters cinder hulk super hp duo tank teams like friggin butter!
shes being pushed to build tank as a mage and her late game falls off more than anyone else.
how does percentage damage fall off late game? We didn't have to build tank at all, in fact it worked out really well when he built a liandries and a luden's echo :-\ just saying.......
you don't play her to have any credible experience to what she is lacking lol. Just because you seen your buddy do something at bronze level doesn't mean she is in "a wonderful spot"
I'm sorry my opinion differs from yours, i will try to never ever do that again. Thanks for the insult too by the way, that was nice i needed that...i hadn't been insulted yet today and was feeling unloved.
EDIT: Interestingly enough your best games on elise involved you building AP...
1st of all you can't really give an opinion about a champions current state if you don't play them personally.
2nd, I didn't really mean to insult you i was just saying you don't play her so you don't know what you are talking about, I just put things bluntly sorry if you were hurt.
Even if i did play her personally, and extensively or even exclusively you would discredit my opinion based on rank as you just did, so until I reach plat i guess i am not entitled to an opinion at all am i?
Did i ever said oh you are bronze so you cant talk about her? i said
you don't play her to have any credible experience to what she is lacking lol
Just because you seen your buddy do something at bronze level
you only wrote two sentences and you don't remember this bit?
yeah its stating just because you seen your friend do something in bronze doesn't make it that shes officially in a good spot. You don't play her, you cant just think i saw someone do well with her so she must be in a good spot. Experience is required to make validated opinions.
all that is required is for me to formulate an opinion based on whatever i can rationalize in my own mind. opinions have no need for validity. And your choice to bring me low to invalidate my opinion doesn't give your opinions value. and you completely dodged your attack on my current rank...congrats on being platinum but it doesn't give you the rights to tear down those beneath you.
Okay my fault for trying to deny you of an opinion.
that she is good right now....thought i said that, but ill try again. The percentage damage on her Q is ideal for the cinder hulk +25% max health plus warmog meta. anytime health stacking is prevalent health based damage gets a buff by default. Elise's q is particularly interesting and powerful because human form does % current health and spider form does percent missing health. Regardless of ranked tier, a level 16 cinder hulk and warmog spirit visage toting tank will have his health depleated and the exact same champion and build combonation in any other rank, not saying that one with greater skill would not be able to survive, but the potency of elise's damage would have the same impact.

She isn't unusable but a couple of good games doesn't mean much. Even the pros say she's not viable right now.
ok don't play her until they do it in the lcd...then say she is amazing now even though they didn't do anything to her....cuz that never happens

Look I'm sorry but her win rate is horrendous in solo queue/normals and the pros (i.e. people who do know how to play her) have actively said she's awful. She doesn't succeed anywhere even when people play her. LCS bandwagoning is a thing sure but do you really think your personal anecdote is worth more than those of people who play the game competitively AND the win rate of every game she's in?
I love Elise but she doesn't work. No matter how skilled you are.
I agree that she's not as strong as she needs to be to work, but I actually don't feel like she's too far off. What I do think, though, is that she is a highly situational choice. She is only strong in a team filled with lane bullies. If all of your lanes (ESPECIALLY bot and top) are able to push up and win lane independently, Elise is a good choice to work as a counter-gank oriented champion. Pair this with her ranged auto attack and the Krug buff bonus damage to towers and you have a jungler that is capable of neutralizing the enemy jungler while simultaneously helping to force down the outer towers faster.
All of that said, this method requires a highly coordinated team, a jungler who is very skilled at reading the enemy jungler's moves, and the specific type of comp that I mentioned. Even in that scenario, Rek'sai would be a better choice for the pure purpose of counterganking. It is only when the goal is to countergank AND help push the tower that Elise, theoretically, becomes a superior choice.
Even then, she's less than ideal. The dragon AoE attack greatly reduced the ease with which she can solo dragon, her clear speed in the jungle isn't as good as it could be, and her skirmish strength is only acceptable. Mid game she is reasonably strong, but her late game is extremely difficult to play effectively. Combine this with her difficulty in getting tenacity (no tenacity on cinderhulk, merc treads are less optimal than sorc shoes, no other realistic options) and you have a champion that's close to working, but just doesn't... quite... cut it.
Of course, if you get an enemy team with either very low CC or exclusively unreduceable cc (all knockups), the tenacity issue becomes moot.

Agreed with a lot of this but the biggest thing for me is "her skirmish strength is only acceptable". She's a terrible team fighter with mostly single-target damage but she can't duel and is a lliability in 2v2s. There's no type of combat she excels in, no champion should be like that.
For the most part I agree with this. Her team fighting isn't actually that awful- if you play it very well, you're essentially either a decent peel champ with CC and a bit of damage to help out, or a decent zone/assassin champ, depending on how the game's going. Both of those are quite, quite difficult to play well, but if you DO do so, she isn't that weak.
Where I struggle on this topic is trying to find something to buff without taking her right back to her overbearing state. Her health and health/lvl stats are a little low, but on par with other mages and ADCs. Her base armor is actually quite low- perhaps this could be buffed a little, but I'm not sure it would do anything. Her armor/lvl is where you would expect. Her base attack speed is on the high end, and though you could buff her per level attack speed, I'm not sure this would help tremendously (only real benefit is healing with Skittering Frenzy) and I'm not sure it's the direction to go. her base AD is slighlty low, and her AD per level is average- but again, not impactful stats to buff.
As for her kit, we come across similar issues. The only thought I have is to remove the AP scaling on her Q, and instead give it a higher base %- something like 10%-12%. This would emphasize her synergy with magic pen, while preventing abuse by lane elise. Assuming the minion/monster cap was left alone, this would improve her skirmish potential noticeably without affecting jungle clear (much). Still not sure exactly how good something like this would be, but it definitely would be a buff to the tanky/supporty Elise that I would envision.
Alternatively, you could make the Q % scale with level- 7/8/9/10/11 or similar- and nerf the AP ratio to something like 1-2%. Almost everything else I can think to do would either buff her lane strength beyond a balanced point, not be useful, or buff her jungle beyond a balanced point. Either of these changes would essentially remove Elise as a laner from possibility, but this one less so than the first.
The problem is with how they chose to nerf her, it affected her lane capabilities which made her into a jungler and the nerfs didn't stop there. They changed her identity to the point where she doesn't really have one anymore.
Is she a mage? is she a tank? is she a fighter? She doesn't excel in any of the 3 roles that is appointed to her by the meta.
As a mage she is lacking because of how she is required to be in melee form with no solid defense/protection and her spiderlings(which is 1/3 of her main damage) dies faster than she can ready them. Both of these make it hard to use her as mage in team fights.
So than we have to take the fighter/tank route which is part ap, part defense, or full defense. But she also is lacking in these roles because it falls off late game because she cant deal enough damage and she cant really be tanky enough to stay within the fight as long as the other tanks.
no matter how skilled you are at certain elos. I'm inclined to agree with you, but I have a friend who still stomps with her. Idk how he does it. I don't know anyone else who can, but he does. He's plat. Not exactly run o the mill bronzie beatin on bronzies.
Why are you bringing up Urgot? He got a massive buff before they used him in professional play in patch 5.5 to his shield and a slight cooldown buff to his ultimate.
I think Zyra Jg is in a better spot lol.
She's great, she just needs lower cooldowns, better sustain, and some better numbers
they can't leave her like this with a movespeed tweak, they KNOW she needs much more to be viable again.
