Can someone explain to me what the big deal is about blue essence?

I don't get it why everyone is mad. I have so much IP that I can't spend it all. It been like that for a long time. So if riot is making everything free, I think this is just a way for them not letting players who invested heavily into the game not lose everything.

I'm pretty sure when they are done, there still won't be anything I would want to buy that I would not be able to afford with the blue essence convention.

So someone pls, enlighten me, cause I don't get what the big fuss is about?

Basically people think they should get same refund for runes they were using for years as people who used their runes for few months. As if they didnt get any value from those runes. Initially Riot didnt wanna refund those at all.

Well yea, I think it is targeted to players who have a shitt ton of ip and can't really spend it. But every one is having a hissy fit

because we are not you? not everyone has a surplus of IP? that's like saying ''why are people complaining about starving? I've got a surplus of food in my house'' the reason should be obvious why

Comparing a refund of something you got just for playing to something you need to survive explains a lot about why you are complaining.

while Blue essence is being converted into the new 'currency' and throwing IP in the vault - it adds more value than IP since you can't upgrade stuff in the loot table with IP like you can with Blue Essence. That being said, you can't do much with blue essence right now and you'll be able to dump your excess blue excess when they come out with the exclusive content for ridiculous amount of blue essence price.

With all that being said - I'm pretty sure blue essence will have the same spending value and time as IP with maybe just a few more things to use it for. Not much of a change minus changing IP to blue essence i guess.
