Hostage Taking - The Worst Form of Trolling

To be honest there are many ways that players can be toxic. Through feeding, chat spamming, raging, ping and emote spamming, and more. Yes, you can mute these players ability to make noise, but there is absolutely nothing you can do to stop them from doing many other forms of griefing someone.

The absolute worst? Tends to come from 2-3 man premades. They will purposely hold their team hostage (unable to surrender), while intentionally being toxic the entire game. This needs to become reportable, and bannable, if possible.

Example:

Gnar: Has quit the game. Kallista: "He will be back." Xin and Kallista: Face checks enemy team five times in 3 minutes Lee Sin: "Screw it... FF. They are already 15 kills up, and it's only like 6 minutes in."

Kallista and Xin vote no.

Gnar: Has reconnected! (10 minutes in) Gnar, Kallista, Xin: Endlessly facechecks other team. Gnar, Kallista: Raging at Lee and Veigar, who now want nothing more than to leave Lee: Continues to try to FF, guards the nexus when possible against a horribly fed enemy team. Kallista: "Report this Lee, he's not playing with us."

Holding people hostage in the game is a highly effective method to troll other people, and there is absolutely nothing the player(s) being held hostage in the game can do about it. There's no punishment, either. Invariably they attempt to get the other team to report one of their teammates, and occasionally it works.

The absolute best part? Is half the time the enemy team finds it hilarious, and helps them drag it out as long as possible.

wanna know the best of the best part is that IF the trolled person afks while the others wait long enough you get a leaver possibly a ban which sucks due to it being their fault. honestly i have more important things to do than sit around stalling while my team trolls. if only riot sees these situations as a red flag to intervene.

I've never seen them care, sadly.

(off- topic btw u commented earlier if you noticed on my other forums) now on topic there should be special cases where riot reviews hostage matchs. due to the fact that makes toxic players. possible another case that its not the players fault for being toxic its the games fault for not helping out giving the player enough tools to deal with this toxicity.

Personally I say give players this:

1x Abort Match per week

This would allow the player, for ANY reason, to ditch a match per week. Instantly reported to Support (all players on the team) when they use it, but not Leaver Buster, so that their reasoning can be assessed. This would allow hostage takers/toxic players to get caught by proxy, but it would also limit players from just getting upset and ditching a ranked game because they felt like it.

Abuse of the abort can eventually result in punishment.

thats actually a better idea than riot can come up with since it personally brings the issue to them.
