A list of AP mages in order of win rate: Viktor: 44% Viegar: 44% Caseopiea: 45% Syndra: 45% Orianna: 45% Kassadin: 45% Ekko (mid) 46% Swain: 46% Vladimir: 46% Kennen: 46% Leblanc: 46% (though in fairness LB is usually balanced around this win rate) Ryze: 46% Lissandra: 46% Karthus: 47% Akali: 48% Xerath: 48% Heimerdinger: 49% Zyra: 50% Twisted Fate: 50% Annie: 50% Anivia: 51% Ahri: 53% Vel'Koz: 53% Lux: 53%

Aside from a few that are overtuned or specifically tailored to this meta, the vast majority of mages are in a very bad spot. This isn't because they're outclassed by AD mages/assassins; they're outclassed by pretty much every other role, and a lot of them are severely undertuned. I know more goes into it than just win rate, but pick rates are also abysmal, as are damage statistics, kill statistics, even experienced player statistics. Ap mages as a class are suffering, and have been suffering ever since itemization gave AD champions such effective tools to block out magic damage while simultaniously nerfing all AP. Please don't wait until the middle of the year to do something; the system needs changes soon.

Notice how Lux's win rate goes down as elo goes up. It's a sign that there's a big difference between high elo players on mages vs lower elo players. Note: Plat+ is mostly lower plat.

Time to get good or adapt, because Mages are not weak, you're just weak at Mages.

Calling Lulu, Zilean and Kayle mages is stretching it a lot. You also didn't list a majority of the mages who were on the bottom. Looking at 1 elo in 1 country is also generally a bad practice.

I look at the country with the best players so that I can gain insight as to how champions perform when played at their best.

If I look at KR Masters/Challenger, the sample sizes will be far too small.

How is it stretching it a lot?

Btw I don't need to list mages at the bottom. I just need to be able to show that a handful of mages have 50%+ win rates to show that Mages have not been gutted.

Tbh this post is so true, Riot just add more AP items so AP mages can actually build more veristally rather than insta rushing item 3157 every time against an assassin.

Mages don't need a buff .. all they need is a itemization that feels less atrocious to build .. everything you buy feels way too expensive and useless in the same time :\
